I'm posting this because in April my Porsche warranty expires on my 2007 Boxster S. Now I sure as hell am not planning on paying the £1000+ for another year of Porsche warranty.

Uptil now most owners seemed to go for the Tesco warranty, at £499. But now they've stopped doing those unfortunately, so i'm not sure what to do. I'm not sure I want to risk ownership without a warranty as I really don't have the savings to pay for anything major should the worst happen.

So do people here have warranties?
If so, who with now?

I'm with Tesco too but that doesn't help you much.

I believe there's a thread on this over at Boxa.net, maybe try there instead?

Come to think of it, haven't the warranty prices just been reduced at OPC? They're quite competetive now aren't they?

Well the price is around £750 for the warranty, which is good. But.. I think they still require the 111 point check even if you're just renewing, which is an extra £180 I think :(

Warranty Direct seems to be fairly highly rated after Tesco, i know quite a few members have used them.

I've got my car covered through them, but haven't had to claim yet, fingers crossed.

I cant find a decent package, and as such i am just winging it. In general Porsches are not unreliable cars if serviced correctly and treated carefully, so i am happy to take the small risk of a large bill for how good the cars are. I definitely wouldn't bother on a 2007 car.

all warranties. I tried to look into one for my VXR which has just come out of warranty and they said they'd stopped it altogether

We know why mind, based on expreriences of existing customers. They were paying out for all sorts that other companies wouldnt do, and as such it was probably costing them a ton of cash.

Rather than re negotiate and tighten the terms, i guess they figured it was easier just to cancel the product to save people getting angry the terms have changed and trying to get the old ones back.

A 2007 Box has an uprated IMS. You're likely to be safe from condensor\rad corrosion, suspension, maf, cat, Oil\Air seperator etc etc issues for some time.

Have the oil changed every year in between services and wing it would be my advice.
