What to buy a 1 year old?

Thinking of opening a bank/savings account for my niece, then putting in £1 a week until she's 18 or something

Either that, or Predator on DVD, also for when she's 18

Both would be awesome

Wasn't just me then.

Get her a picture book or something, it's a 1 year old, they aren't going to be grateful or thank you, so who cares, they're too stupid to know what it is anyway.

You'd be suprised how bright some 1 year olds are. My friends daughter at 1 was starting to get to know some of the words in her books. Now at 16months she knows nursery rhymes and quite a few words.

+1 for reading the title incorrectly.

Money in a savings account, token toy - teddy bear for example and a big box which can be made in to a play house.

A friend bought my son (was 1 Jan this year) a toy octopus where squeezing the legs played notes. He took it out the box and then climbed inside and quite happily sat there. The box was not so big so it looked more like he was the present with his shoulders and head sticking out.

Money for the future, not so expensive toy for fun and a cardboard box *** (<-that was for the win, not sure why it has been censored).

+1 for reading title incorrectly as well......

My little lad is 1year and 1month, toys r us have this things which helps them to learn to walk and at the front of it has buttons and a shape fitting thing to keep them busy, at present he can only put the ball into the circle, but he has to pull a lever to get the ball back out, and it plays sounds when he does it, keeps him well happy.

Sounds and flashing lights are what amuses him most.

Only costs £20.

got my nephew an awesome little rocking/sit on dinosaur thing from early learning centre for his 1st birthday - he absolutely loved it and its designed for ages 1 - 7 years old so will last him quite a while :) was about £70 tho
