If you close steam when it's downloading a game does it start from where you logged off or do you have to start from the begging again?
So far I'm not having much luck with downloading MDWF2 cause the internet connection I'm using isnt very reliable at the moment.
The annoying thing is, I've started this download 3-4 times already and it always starts with updating and from 1% again.

Its really starting to **** me off and was wondering if there was a way for me to find the location of the download so I can check the size of the file, and possibly save it so I could start from the last point when I had a stable connection before it went awol.

If you have any input on that please let me know.

Cheers =)

Yep they continue off, also usually pause if you launch a game as well (or does for me when opening CSS whilst an update/new game is downloading)

It says it starts from 1% again, but that's 1% of the remainder. I wish Steam would display a volume dl/remaining, but sadly that's not crossed their minds yet.

Erm it shows you the percentage downloaded in the game tab.

Yeah that's what it started off with.. but now it just shows updating everytime I reconnect and its currently saying Updating...16% @ 28.2kbs.. painfully slow I know.. But that's why I am getting ****ed off with it every time the connection drops.

I also stopped being a noob and managed to find the location of MDWF2 folder located in C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\call of duty modern warfare 2

Here is the next possibly stupid question for the evening.. I've only started to download the single player game not the multiplayer. Do I need to download both of them in order to get it to run. Second the current size of the folder is @ 5.00 GB (5,371,833,661 bytes) contains 202 files and 7 folders.

Does that sound right?

If you double click the game when it is downloading it gives you an ETA. Basically, steam can be a bit funny with dling games, but don't worry, it will never miss peices and will always do as it is told, even if the GUI isn't kept up to date :)

Local Disk (C:) - Program Files (x86) - Steam - Steamapps - Common

I think thats the directory.

Cheers dude!

Why did you buy it off Steam if your connection is so crap?

I work at sea. I just arrived in port 3 days ago and I figured before I head off again I could take advantage of the free internet in the marina and leave my laptop on d/ling before heading off again. I know the game play time might be 5 hrs long.. but it looks too good not to have bought it.

I just use steam cause its convenient and usually reliable.

Cool.. I tried to double click it like you said, and it trys to launch it. Thanks for the info about Steam.. Much appreciated.

Hope you get it sorted before you head back to the sea! :D

I dunno why but the thought of someone gaming out at sea is awesome.

Make sure you launch the game one time then set Steam to Offline mode if your going without Internet access!
