Its incredible to see it in colour, it really does add a sense of realism to it. It helps you understand the sheer horror of what happened at that time and appreciate what those generations actually did for the country we live in.
You grow up in school and see black and white movies and read about it in books, yet it never seems actually real. Its almost like it happened in another world that you cant comprehend, yet watching those men drop to their knees in a wounded blind daze while bullets are still aiming for them to kill them... its shocking.
I always get a lump in my throat when I think of those men that where on those boats at D-day, that served on those super dangerous missions and never had any family back home to pray for them. Yet they stepped out and done their part and no one will ever remember them on a personal level, the world will never know who they where, what they liked/disliked etc. Its such an awful shame that the human race is so barbaric... and even worse a shame that we never learned our lesson and still war today.
