pair of high quality headphones that are also within reason of compact (able to be put in a hoody front pocket thing) been looking at Sennheiser and am willing to spend between £50-100 and this is for gaming but also on the move listing to music with my ipod ertc.

Also looking for a high quality good mike for gaming willing to part up to £60 for that

Why not get 2 pairs. Get a portable pair for on the move and a pair for home use, gaming etc. The problem with having 1 pair for both purposes is that phones that are better for gaming eg, positional sound, are more over ear types, and thus bigger and less portable. Goldring DR150 or Sennheiser HD555 are good recommended phones for gaming, but they are bulky phones. For portable use, Koss Portapro's are tremendous value for money, sound great and are very portable. Senn PX100 which I use with my Sony MP3 player are also great phones for the money. both the PX100 and the Portapro's fold away nicely. I have tried using the PX100 for gaming, and there is minimal positional sound, even with Creative's CMSS 3D. I am hoping to get some Goldrings to use for gaming.

koss ksc-75?

I bought these a month ago based on your recommendation and they are spot on. I'm using them with Sansa Clip+ 8GB. Very comfortable and lightweight. Just wish there was a drawstring to tighten the wires leading down from the separate phones, more bass would be nice too.

I had PX100's before which were awesome too but have got lost. :(
