The white splodge is a clear sign that someone likes their mince pies a bit too much :D

Nom Nom, I'll have to get my mum to start cooking some mince pies.. they're usualy very tasty.

I like the morrisons ones tbh. Although I was told last year Costco ones are the way to go, must try them this year!

My grandma makes the best mince pies ever. Her pastry (not pasty!) is so nice - light and fluffy. She cant make much else, but is amazing at pastry. She made me 12 mince pies and they went in one night. I had 5, housemate had 4 and other housemate had 3!

Maan, every year someone mistakenly says how much they love their mice pies or something along those lines, I fear that you may have curbed said mistake for this year. :(

Made the mince last week, just keep givig it a stir and adding more alcohol for a few weeks, then will prepare the pies Xmas week :) Mmmmmmmmm.

I thought Morrisons ones were alright last year, my policy this year is "no Christmas until December the 1st", therefore the mulled wine and pies are on hold...

Anyone got any proven decent recipes for making them?

Post your specs and build log.. Some serious overcooking too.

Will do as well as a host of over food, for my fake Christmas with friends. making mince tomorrow and pies next Saturday. It should sit for at least 3 weeks but hay..
I tried overclooking the stove, but just got a big fireball instead :(,
