*** 5800 Series Update ***

What has annoyed me about my order is that I've had to go and look for an explanation and info. Nothing has been said by Oc without me asking a question. If I was kept upto date it would be fine. An email or news post saying not this week would be fine. Been waiting a month and had no update.

Haha beat me to it!

I agree that point.

Since we've pre-paid for a pre-order, at least give us updates!
But nothing is given! All the more rage!

ok, that's disconcerting. friday i rang up & was 11/24 for the asus 5850, today i got a reply from a webnote & stood at 14... getting worried now. this is gonna take aaaaaaaaaaaaages :(

I'm new, my 5th post, and I thought I'd start off with... "Just installed my 5970"... after reading MonkeySpy's thing on this thread, I had to say something!

I'm new coz when I called OCuk the chappie said to check the forums...

He said the man (I assume the boss) in the office is always checking the forums... and he (I assume the boss, again) will update/reply to delivery queries...

From what I've seen, I assume (the boss) is "fatboy"... I just hope he knows about the problems, and something will be done...

BTW, just installed the 5970 and it's HUGE, just fits in my case (don't have to move the HDDs however makes sliding them out impossible!), just quickly ran 3DMark06 = 24237 on 1920x1200 no AA.

I better move onto a more correct thread!

Something interesting: Usually when the resolution is reduced, the position of my icons are all changed (usaully sorted) and when you revert back to the original resolution the icons are still sorted = have to re-position all my icons again. Just installed this card and the resolution went from 1920x1200 to 800x600. Installed the drivers (from the CD) & rebooted, screen went back to 1920x1200 AND the icons were restored to their original position! Must be something new in Windows 7! :)

I have orderred my ASUS 5850 on Monday the 23rd of November but joined forum today. Going through posts I know I will probably be waiting for a bit for the card to arrive. I am taking that FatBoy is in charge in here do a question to him.
As using webnotes system didn't give me an answer ....
... Are there any news about ASUS 5850. please ???

Thanks in advance

Sorry but your missing the point. When i ordered it was before the rush/shortage and was told it was in stock and would ship in the next 48 hours. Again this was not a pre order!. And i just keep hearing/reading the same story time and again.
Part of my reasoning for always using OC`ers is their swift service, excellent build quality and dare i say it sterling customer service. But as anyone with the slightest knowledge of buisness practices will attest -rule 1 always keep your customer informed, OC`ers failed superbly.
If it was not for stumbling across Fatboys updates i would have been totally in the dark, as to the global shortage and infact more likely to keep hassling OC`ers.
I`m sure if you went in to Mc D*nalds ordered and paid for a burger, told they would bring it over to your table, but you ended up just sitting there for the next month with no burger or explination as to why - you would be the first to winge, ney spit yer dummy.
As for the negitive post on this forum, i suggest you go to specksavers as those rose tinted ones seem to be wearing out;)

And one last thing i notice your given occupation xh17m4n is DPD courier driver - Same company OC`ers use to deliver good i understand. Conflict of intrest perhaps???

Yes a driver, hardly anything that could be usefull here if i was a sales rep then yeh lol but a driver ? Sorry im at the bottom of the barrell lol i like how you go on about "if you wer in mcdonalds.. " comparing an online Computer store with a FAST FOOD RESTRAUNT is just stupid really , i
maby i will try and order a big mac online for next day delivery . Completly different !

Well i orderd mine on 9th november and got it on the 24th , Before i ordered it i checked reviews , looked at some benchmarks and looked out some prices , first thing i noticed was the limited stock so i also read that some people had already waited a couple weeks or so , at that knew i wouldnt get it right away so no need for me to wright a bad review , if you check your emails regularly im sure you would have been able to type 58xx into your search engine , surley you must have known the demand and shortage of this product, all you need to do is look on this forum, im sorry but if im spending my money i do my own research and i think the fact that they are responding to your questions is good enough im not saying its fair / unfair , but i think people jump on the bad review band wagon too quickly! Sure everyone has their own oppinion and experiance with ocuk but they cant tell you what they dont know themselves .

Yea I did all the same things and knew about the problems with stock that's not the point I was trying to make, also I do not blame oc for this. If I buy something from anyone I expect them to keep me informed. I personally think Oc have failed to do this in my case. Even a email to say sorry massive stock probs everywhere were getting small amounts in and shipping them when we can. They could even link the forum for as nowhere does it say to look here for news. I dont think its my job as a customer to trawl the internet for this info. Sorry Rant over..

You have missed the point completly again!. It does not matter what the vendor is selling or its buisness, i was speaking metaphorically, the point is you buy something, part with cash on the understanding of what, where and when it will be delivered agreed with vendor (thats called a contract). If that is not adheared to by the seller then the sellers are in breach of said contract, the same as if you cancelled payment after receiving goods, you would be in breach of the contract. Thus you are well within your rights to complain, when you receive shoddy service.
On another note its seems you have a complex about your chosen occupation, perhaps if you had tried a little harder at school, you would have reached even dizzier heights and understood the context of the comment - Overclockers contracts DPD to deliver all their goods, You (defending OC`er) work for DPD, as dare i say it a driver, thats what we grown ups call a conflict of intrest.:p

Bottom of the barrell when it comes to me overclockers and dpd, no complex at all im affraid , im sellf-employed mate with a rediclouse salary which has made me a very comfortable lad and optional early retirement over the horizon
education is good for the on paper jobs but my education is more of a wise decision rather than sucking to the superiors chasing the next job in line just to get a better bonus . Isn't that what life is really aboout lol

you are well within your rights to complain but on a forum we all have oppinions and i dont think you have been as much a victim as you make out thats all im saying .
