...buy some 17" BBS CVs

basically i have 17" winter tyres but i cba to put them on the same rims again, as i'll have to swap all the tyres over again in the spring.
it's easier to have 2 sets of wheels and it's better for the tyres too, but unfortunately 17"s steelies don't seem to exist

i know they'll look tiny as it's on stock suspension, but it's only for the winter months.
i can get them for £145 each, which isn't too bad for new BBS..
i could always get some nasty reps for ~£100, but they'll look cheap and other cheap alloys like momo and AEZ just look terrible imo

if someone cba to photoshop them on, that'd be awesome.

if i was to do this properly, i'd get some 18" CHs and drop it, but i think i've spent enough on this car already :p
oh, and excuse the state of it, it hasn't been washed since the summer..

i really don't have the money to blow on 18" CHs, 4 tyres and suspension unfortunately..

cheers for the PS, they look quite good actually, although that's becuase they look like 18"s :o

'Because it looks like carp' would be my good reason why you shouldn't.

Looks better than the stock ones, but then the stock ones are foul.

If I was to get aftermarket wheels for my Leon it would be either BBS CH's:

Or Compomotive MOs.

they're not the most beautiful wheels ever, but they're good quality for a decent price. most aftermarket alloys at this price range are absolutely hideous, mainly becuase they're aimed at the Maccy D tuning crowd

they need to be 17" though as i'm not forking out for new tyres and suspension, but i agree with the CH, by far the best :)
the MOs are lovely too, but they're well over £200 each, which is more than i'm willing to spend, as they'll only be on for winter

yes i know CH and the Compos look awesome, but they're too expensive :(
for the sake of argument, CHs and tyres will cost £2000

i'm looking to spend £600 :p

i need another set of wheels for my winter tyres as i'm tired of faffing about with 2 sets of tyres on 1 set of wheels.
and i'm most likely keeping it for at least another 20 months unless something serious fails

I'd do a swapover tbh go get a cuppa while its getting done

i'm lazy however
yeh i did it last year, but i can't be bothered to do it again this year. £50 now and then another £50 in spring, and then again next year.
and it's not all that great for the sidewalls
plus it'll be easier to shift with winter tyres on wheels, or i could easily sell them for a few hundred later as they're not reps

£50?

Jesus no wonder.

I get mine done for £20 tracked down the road, or for free if I drive the 25miles to my aunts garage and do it myself.

€50, the exchange rate is crap :p

you can get tyres changed for £5 a wheel?

you can get 4 wheels removed, tyres off, 4 tyres on and the wheels back on for £20?

I know them quite well personally two are friends, get work done there for other cars mine too sometimes depending. Thats only that one place, but tbh I can go and do it myself for free. Its just if I'm lazy.

Never realised it cost that much! :o

doesn't take much to talk them down for stuff.

its to cover vat and the wieghts/valves etc mainly.
