Paranormal Activity

i watched it a couple of months ago and thought it was decent, better than most 'horror' were they just throw blood and guts at you. prob the film that has scared me more than any other but i wasnt terrified, the gf hated it and was under the covers when ever it was in the bedroom.

best think was the last 'attack' before the ending dont want to spoil it so i wont say anything but i thought it was well done.

shame about the the new ending as the other as some have said sounds much better.

I'm not saying it's impossible to not be scared by it but in terms of horror films this one does a very good job at scaring those that are provoked by the genre.

loads of people on here will be ZOMG I AM FROM THE INTERWEBZ AND AM A MACHO MAN I WAS NOT SCARED!
...
BUT NOT ME! I'M FROM THE INTERWEBZ 1/10

Really that's what you were saying? Apologies, I misunderstood.;)

Highlight to view alternate endings..

Original Version
The original cut of the film, which was sent to potential distributors and has since been circulating on the internet, was somewhat different from the version currently being shown in theaters. While the original was longer, at 97 minutes, several scenes present in the theatrical version were absent, such as Katie discovering her keys on floor and Micah's picture being slashed. The original cut also included an extended scene involving footage of a possessed girl (whose story was read by Micah on the internet) chewing off her own arm.
This version's ending did not involve Micah's body being thrown at the camera, but instead featured Katie returning to the bedroom, after the struggle heard downstairs, wielding a knife with blood on her tank top. She then sits next to the bed and rocks back and forth in a catatonic state throughout the remainder of the following day. Her friend Amber calls the house, and later arrives, discovering Micah's body downstairs. When police officers arrive, Katie comes out of her catatonic state and approaches them. The officers instruct her to drop the knife, but shoot her after being startled by a door suddenly slamming behind them. The movie ends with audio of the police discovering the camera as the credits roll.[9]

Third version
According to director Oren Peli, a third version of the film was shown at only one public viewing.[10] This version's ending reportedly featured Katie returning to the bedroom with the knife and slitting her own throat in view of the camera

A pile of turd? I seriously cannot beleive people find this remotely SCARY. BBC Ghos****ch from 1992 or so - the one that caused a stir of media controversy - that is scary.

I'm exactly the opposite, I thought PA was a great watch and that BBC thing from years ago was laughable at best, certainly not scary in any way.

Yes, that's why i used the word 'loads' meaning the majority but not everyone. Otherwise I would have said 'all'.

Maybe now you understand. ;)

I understand that you were clearly implying that anyone posting that they didn't find it scary was trying to be an internet hardman, and that you therefore fail.

Watched this the other night.

Found it good and a bit freaky in places, not scary.

Few of the lads were ****ing themselves though!

Just watched this alone, and it was absolutely terrible.

Not frightening in the slightest. Not even any jumpy scenes.
Really wouldn't recommend it.

EDIT: This was the 2007 edition, not sure if that makes any odds.

Me and the mrs watched it earlier.

Was the original ending with the police (some would say better). Found the film a little unnerving but not scary like the hype made out.

I found myself wanting something substantial to happen.. then it ended.

I'm a big girl and the ending was awesome totally pooed my pants. Good effort for this. Defo do not watch alone if you scare easy, you will not sleep for days :D. I watched in the cinema and a few screamed at the end.

At least I know where the covers go at night now, it's not the girlfreind after all :p
