I love gaming but I also like my room to look tidy so I'm using a Antec fusion Media center case. It still looks great but there isn't much space. I can only just fit a 512mb 8800GT cards which has been a great card but I tried to play Dragon Age Origins with everything maxed at 1080p and noticed an increadible amount of slow down when entering areas with a lot of fire effects. If I'm using a single card I can use either ATI or Nvidia cards I think.

Any card around the same size which I'll notice a good frames improvment? DirectX 11 my be nice to future proof it.

Well the standard 8800GT size was 9", but it could be different due to aftermarket coolers
The new 5770 is widely available, unlike the 58 series and comes in at 8.25" where as the shortest 58 series is the 5850 which is harder to get hold of and comes in at 9.5". Given this the 5770 seems best choice, should be fine with DAO, but tbh I wouldnt of thought your 8800 would struggle overly

I just found this pic

And have also read that the 5850 is 9.5" but the 5870 is 10.5". The 5850 would fit but would I notice much of a performace boost?
