what i mean by the question is, anyone gone further, bigger fmic, bigger exhaust, bigger turbo etc ?

How is reliability ?

Was driving my car earlier and i realised that i shouldnt be saving 10k for an M5, but instead just spend 3-4k on mine.

been looking and i can obtain around 230hp and 400lb/ft but wont this insane torque rating break the car ?

ultimate sleeper ?

i honestly don't think it's worth spending thousands on a 1.9tdi
what's its stock output? 130?

to get over 200 reliably you'd need to replace everything, and the clutch would last about a week too

Get the remap and leave it at that. Going further you really have to totally love the car and be willing to spend every penny you have just to get an extra 1bhp. It's really not worth it on something as mundane and ordinary as a 1.9TDI.

Plus it'll get to the point where the car just wasn't designed to have that much power put through it, and you'll hit a barrier. Putting more than 220~bhp through a bog standard FWD platform will always cause problems especially if i was only designed for 130bhp~.

You'll find that after the massive gains from the remap, an extra £2k and 45bhp won't make the car that much quicker. There are some certain exceptions where cars respond really well to modding and it's worth it but with most cars they should be left after a remap.

Depends how you see your car, a 2.0 TDI 140 is quite nice with a remap and a militek exhaust should see you near 200 or just over. If you do remap, get a better braking system though.

Theres a few on Briskoda and SCN. Its expensive i must admit to modify a diesel over a petrol. Although you can have some great sleepers out of it. Im planning on running a Hybrid on my PD130 sometime next year and the results are impressive. Having been in an Ibiza with 240bhp and 400ftlbs it is very quick. Aslong as the smoke doesnt bother you i dont see why its not a bad thing. Diesel engines are a lot stronger internal wise than a petrol, so you dont have to go to the lengths are changing internals to get good power. Plus, the MPG doesnt change very much either. Devuntopia has a 260bhp Fabia and he averages 50mpg on a run..

lol just lol. ultimate sleeper I think not.

You've obviously never been in or seen a v.quick diesel then.. My mate has a 240bhp Ibiza with 380ftlbs of torque and we have pushed allsort. Cosworths, Evo's, Imprezas.. Its stupidly quick. Does a 13.5 1/4 mile and 0-60 in under 6 seconds. So that isnt a sleeper..pffft

The same with my 1.9CDTi Astra its 150 as standard but it has a DTUK tuning box I reckon its close to 200BHP, kids in there Fiesta STs and ST170s and MGZR and the like get a shock when they cant beat a diesel burner :D All good fun.
