I'm still shaking from this whole ordeal. I can't believe it happened.
As some of you know, my relationship with my girlfriend was on the rocks a couple of months ago.
We patched things up and I believed that our love was stronger.
Friday was our 1st Year Anniversary together.
I decided Friday was going to be the right time to pop the question.
Friday was also another special day. The Twilight Saga: New Moon came out. I have always been a Twihard. Ever since 2005. I still own several original novels (not in box, I was young when the came out) and own a ton of other merchandise.
So, I decided to pop the question at the movie theater when I took her to watch the movie. Now, she's not big on these kinds of movies, in fact, she hates them, but I convinced her to go.
So. I picked her up at her house and we went to the movie. When we arrived, I gave her the money to get us both tickets, while I ducked behind an alley to change. I brought my awesome Edward costume with and was going to wear it for when I dropped the question.
I put it on and found her. She asked me "What the hell are you doing?" I told her it was just for fun. She rolled her eyes and gave me my ticket.
We went in. About 15 minutes before the show started. We got our seats. 5 minutes before the movie was to start, I got up and told my girlfriend to wait there.
I had called the theater earlier that day and told him what I had planned. He offered to help me.
I walked up to the front of the theater. The projectionist shone a light on me, so everybody's attention was drawn to me.
I then said, "Abagail, the first time I saw you, I thought you were just a beautiful woman. I then realized that when you can live forever, what do you live for? It's like your my own personal brand of heroin. I just proposed to you, and you think it's a joke."
And with that, I got to one knee and held out the ring.
My girlfriend stood up and screamed, "How could you?" and ran out of the room.
I could hear laughter. I was embarrassed. As I made my way out to follow her, the shirt on my costume got stuck in the doors. One of the sleeves got ripped off.
I became furious.
I got out to the lobby and went to the concession stand.
"Did you see a girl run out of here a few seconds ago?" The girl behind the counter told me yeah and that she ran to the bathroom.
At that moment, somebody yelled out of the theater door, "Are you the hero or the bad guy?"
I ran out of the theater and got into my car. I drove. I drove for about an hour and a half. I got my head cleared.
I then realized I made a terrible mistake.
I just ran out on Twilight.
I couldn't believe what she did to me. This was worse than everything else. She made me miss the movie.
I looked over at the passenger seat and saw she left her purse behind in the car.
I looked through it and found something she holds very dear to her.
A picture of her mother, being 7 months pregnant with her.
She told me the story about the picture. Her mother died when she gave birth to her. And this picture, was the only picture she had of "the two of them together".
I took the picture and ripped it up.
I drove back to the theater and saw her standing on the sidewalk. I threw her purse at her and the confetti pieces of the photograph. I told her, "you did this to yourself". And I drove off.
I never thought it would end like this.
