Mk3 Mondeo needs new tyres

Always had Goodyear NCT's before, but is there a current favourite amongst Mondeo or similar owners? 205x55x16 size, normal use, nothing out of the ordinary. Looking to spend upto about £300 max on a set of 4.

You might be better off with a Touring tyre on a Mk3 Mondeo rather than something like a GS-D3 especially with that tyre size. Goodyear do others.

My Fiesta came with Hankook Ventus S1 evos on. Can't fault them. They've lasted £15k and barely look worn, are quiet and offer lots of grip. Will definitely be buying them again.

Guy at work got me a quote from a local garage near him. That doesn't include fitting though.

Fairly sure - 225/45/18 on mine

Edit - how queer, everything I can find says they should be 225/40/18, which is what's on the ST...I'm 99% sure what's on mine are 225/45 though, which are a lot more expensive!

What are they like in terms of road noise?

My car's definitely on the wrong rubber, the calculator here http://www.etyres.co.uk/tyre-size-calculator.htm says I should have more than a 2.5% difference in diameter and the difference is 3.48% in my case - should I just bite the bullet and get 4 of those on mine?

Not excessive, but higher than an economy tyre (not cheap, economy as in low resistance)
