GTS250 1024Mb or HD4850 512Mb

Currently only £2 between these cards so which one fits the following better?

Phenom 2 550 BE @ 3.1
Gigabyte GA-MA770-UD3P
4 Gig Ram
Corsair CX 400w PSU

If you have no brand loyalty to either, like me, then a 250.....and i own a 4850.

Its generally a good 10-15% quicker that a 4850....apart from the odd game that prefers ATI hardware.

Between the two I'd say go for the GTS 250 1GB, since it is a bit faster than the 512MB 4850.

Can't really go wrong with either on that setup... which is faster will depend on the game and settings your playing at...

I'd prolly vote for the 250GTS as being slightly faster overall.

Tis not a spanner, the cheapest 5770 is another £40 and thisa is a sub £450 budget build, so not an option.

How about a 4770 maybe, for Gddr5 and lower power temps.?

If you can get a 4770 1GB/4850 1GB for the same price, otherwise the 250 will be better due to the 1GB RAM.
