XBOX, 60gig to secondhand 120gig...?

Sorry, not an Xbox expert by a long chalk!

Would I need the official migration cable to transfer my profile/ account and saved games to the 120gig?

Googling seems to suggest there are different cables.... one for 20gig to 60gig upgrade etc.

Will a third part cable work...as found on auction sites?

Bit confused to be honest!

All the cables should work on either 20GB>60GB, 20GB>120GB or 60GB>120GB. It is the software disc that comes with it that needs to be different because the older 20GB>120GB kits will not recognise the 60GB hard drives.
 
They will give you one for free, it's just the call centre chimps that seem to get confused.

I had to ring back 4 times before I got someone who would help, first one even had the cheek to ask for my card details even though the cables are free :rolleyes: Each time they wanted different bits of information aswell, but the last person I spoke to just wanted my console serial number and my name, address, post code etc.

Thanks Alrik, I assume its the 0800 number in the sticky I call?
 
Don't know about the sticky, but the one I used was 0800 587 1102 (it's probably the same, I am just too lazy to check).
