My Amstrad box updated last night.
Mine too. Just had a mess, not really slow in any way. I'd say it's slightly slower, but only marginally. Turned off the Minni TV and I can actually see more than 4 characters for the listings. I'll be keeping that off. And turned on the HD highlighter.
I'm liking it so far. Stacker has reduced my recordings from 4 pages to 1 and a half too. Much neater.
Contrast seems to work too.

Spot on analysis and my summarisation as well.
Although Im in two minds about turning off mini tv as on the left side of the mini tv is the program description which is always there. If you turned off mini tv you would have to highlight the item and then press the "i" button.
I do like to see the programme info so thats why I have left my mini tv on for now.

Not bad - will take a little adjusting to.
Not sure about the pin entry on movies - used to be obvious, now it's tucked away at the bottom of the screen.
Just did that on my amstrad - it said updating - but kept the old EPG! sounds like its prob region specific at the mo.
Yup HD box, installed about 3 weeks ago!
Ours updated the other night. They need to give me an option to turn off the silly rotating blue lights on the front before I get the masking tape out!
Other than that, there's some nice touches. It's certainly a little more sluggish, but that's to be expected as it's the first update since the EPG landed about 10 years ago!

i still think the quality is poor in HD when compared to the old EPG.

You can do that - I did it the other night. Have the option of standard, demo and off or something like that.
In what way does it not? You want it to stop lighting up don't you? I chose the 'off' option and thus they no longer do anything. Is that not what you were alluding to?
Ok well looks like i finally got my new EPG for the amstrad box.
Looks pretty good and is an improvement over the old one...although i kinda miss the old one as i was pretty used to it.
One little thing i noticed and i dont know if its a bug or its meant to do it. But i have my fave channels set up and and cycle through them with my blue button...thats not the issue...the issue im having is that say if im watching Sky 1 HD then i cycle through my fave channels and watch another channel...if i want to cycle through them again it seems like the fave channel goes to the last channel i watched ie it goes back to sky 1 hd then i can cycle through them.
Now is that how its meant to be or is that a bug??...because if it is then ill have to ring sky and ask them to get it sorted if they can, unless someone can tell me a fix here...its annoying as i dont want it to start at the last channel i watched but rather continue from the channel im on etc.
