[Ordering tonight] Windows 7 and The Sims 3 build

I will either find a hard drive or just get a Samsung one. Don't need to buy the O/S or DVD drive either. Going to run Windows 7 and be used for The Sims 3 mainly and future expansion packs.

All sound good?

How much better as it's costing more money and this is for a kid - just really for The Sims 3 mainly. The monitor will only do 1280x1024 anyway.

Okay TheTard. Taken your advice on GFX but the mobo is out of stock. What CPU should I get? It does not have to be quad it's only for Windows 7 and The Sims 3.
 
The GPU will perform much much better, and for the extra £10, it will be worth it and will last longer as it will play future games (maybe not at max but it will easily play them. It will max out sims though)
That dual core athlon will be fine. if it's just for general use and sims then you wont need anything more powerful. =]
 
Or even for a wee bit more you could have a bit of a beast here (gfx is a bit budget, but you have the makings of something quite good there if you overclock it to 4GHz)

Very good system so far. I'm going to order again for myself but I wont be buy a HDD or GFX card (have 'em) but I was thinking of getting ...

AMD Athlon II X4 Quad Core 620 2.60GHz (Socket AM3) - Retail

Insted? Is it worth the extra money? Games, media, Windows 7? Not for encoding, processing, etc
 
The dual. I ordered the CPU from a different site as I had to buy a DVD player and the CPU would bump the price for free delivery. When is the latest I can order the rest from Overclockers and get for x/mas? I was gunna order Sunday and hope it's out on Monday for Tuesday.
 
I believe that last orders guaranteed for xmas is this Saturday, any later and they can't guarantee. If you order sunday it won't be guaranteed for before xmas as they won't post until Monday. The only reason I know this is because I've had to RMA a dvd drive which was posted back to OcUK yesterday.
