Seriously, are they not going to give it up already? They weren't even going through at the time of the handball anyway so who is to say they would have even made it in the first place?

I personally think that they are looking a little silly now.

Ireland had 210 minutes to beat a poor France, they didn't and were punished for poor defending.

Yeah, Henry handled the ball, any other player in world football would have! Get over it.

True dat:p

Its unfortunate that it happened but its time to let it die now...

As an Irish person it's quite embarrassing to view the lengths they're going to, to be included.

Roy Keane had it spot on with what he said.

It's pathetic the lengths Ireland are going for, they're making themselves look very silly.

You win some, you lose some. Just football.

I don't know how you can say they were punished for poor defending when you simply can't defend against cheating. I don't know how you can come to the conclusion that any other player would have done the same thing, how the **** do you know?

Plus, who's to say that if France didn't get that goal that Ireland wouldn't have scored a few seconds later. That incident changed the course of the game, simple.

210 minutes is irrelevant too as it only takes a second to score a goal.

A poor France is irrelevant too as what difference does that make?

In fact, your whole post is irrelevant now that I've typed all that out. I want my two minutes back pls!? :D

Ireland should have cleared the ball, they let Henry get goal side of the defender. They failed to clear the first ball in to the box, and then didn't deal with the bounce, which is very poor defending at an international level. For all his complaining Given didn't do much to come claim / collect the ball.

Cheating aside it was poor defending.

Maybe go ask Robbie "best striker in the world" Keane why he missed those sitters earlier on in the game?

Well done. Ireland played for 210 minutes, which is a lot of seconds and they didn't score.

They were not at their best, had they of been at their best I don't think they'd have even been playing Ireland, they have been in very poor form internationally.

Well, you don't see why your points are irrelevant so I'll not pursue this matter any further.

The only feeling I'm left with after the whole incident (Henry, not you Tummy :D) is that it was actually footy that lost a little that night.

I don't think it should be forgotten about completely but I think Ireland should just move on now. I do understand where Ireland are coming from though, as it's very hard to get over when you feel you've been cheated.

I feel my points are relevant, you're just deciding to ignore them. Seeing as you can't counter what I've said.

Ireland covering up for not taking chances and not been good enough on the night by blaming the other team :)

I didn't see Ireland saying it wasn't a penalty a few years ago, ect ect.

Swings and round abouts, the life of football.

Ireland need to get over it :)

Tbh Tummy, I can easily counter everything you said.

For example, the first one, bad defending or not the ball would have gone out had Henry not intentionally handled it to keep it in play. Thats what I mean by not being able to defend against cheating. All of those little things that happened in the run up to Henry handling the ball would have led to the ball going out of play had Henry not decided to knock it back with his hand.

:D just lol

You don't seem to understand that the ball shouldn't of fallen to Henry.
Ireland didn't do enough to stop the ball coming to him, of which they had two opportunities, maybe three.

They missed chances on the night, Robbie Keane missed a couple of sitters.

Ireland didn't take their chances, and then failed to clear the ball, it came to Henry who kept it in play and crossed for the goal.
