i need a slingle slot 4850 which one?

A single slot HD4850 would be too hot to handle for the shuttle. Get a 4770 or rather a 4670 whic would heat less and ur shuttle will stay cooler.

If you are stuck to buying 4850 alone, there are models from Sapphire, which are cheapp and u can go for.

On a related note, 9800GT slimline.

Nvidia says 105 watts under load, a TDP of 225W and about 400W psu recommended.

What is the point of it being able to fit into a slim HTPC...

I think that a GT220 would be an excellent choice.Single slot, short and takes less than 60W underload. So this would be excellent for your shuttle.http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-126-OK&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1010
Or you could get an HD 4670 less than 60W aswell but I bit more powerful than the GT220.

ok cheers, how does that fair on a 9600gt?

Well the 9600GT is better than both but takes a lot more power and requires a 6-pin power connector.

both my 4850s are single slot. they do get hot tho thats my only gripe, but put on auto fan and it does the trick.
