dirt 2 benchmarks dx9 vs dx 11

Doesn't look like we have a "crysis" on our hands then:)

30 frames avg maxed out on a single GTX8800 Seems to actually run "better" than Dirt 1 on my system (Qx9650/GTX8800) steering is certainly more responsive. Not sure if it loads DX9 or 10 up though:confused:

Hmm odd, I don't believe it's using tesselation :-

Is the demo crippled in DX11 somewhat?

Odd... with my 5870 @ stock (and machine spec in sig) :-

1920 x 1200 res, high settings, no vsync or msaa....

1st run - 58.8, 50.7 (Avg, Min) - wahay!
2nd run - 35.0, 29.1 - erm.. what??
3rd run - 34.1, 28.3.... eh???

At this point I noticed that the benchmark seems to be a bot rather than a set path. Finished in various positions, something other cars crashed etc. So won't get the same result every time..?

4th run - 33.8, 26.8

Switched everything to ultra low, and got 101.5, 87.2.

Enabled 4xmsaa - got 88.1, 72

Game was choppy as hell though, so enabled vsync so nice and smooth... and got 58.8, 54.0.... erm... what? would it not be 60.0 60.0 if it was capped at vsync below the figure above? Odd.

Using 9.11 release drivers. Dunno why I'm getting a fair bit less that some of you guys on here with comparible gear.

Should say Tesselation="true" in the above, and scores are bound to differ, as no ones running the same race, they are all different, i can get an average over 50 if he spins off, as he doesn't catch the other cars up till near the end, so spends nearly the whole race on his todd :p

1680 x 1050 - 4 x AA - ULTRA settings
min_fps="44.804276" av_fps="58.142105"

1680 x 1050 - 8 x AA - ULTRA settings
min_fps="41.200008" av_fps="53.299881"

Win 7
5750 in crossfire, running at 750/1200 for this benchmark.

Tweaktown analysis of 5xxx cards with the demo ; http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/3...i_radeon_hd_5000_series_comparison/index.html

Exactly my thoughts:
"I have to say first up before talking about the performance side of things, it's really quite funny to see a game start up and have a splash screen for AMD which is then followed by one for Intel. While we're sure the AMD one is more related to the video card side of things and the Intel one is for the CPU side, it's no less funny to see both companies’ logos show up, all we needed was NVIDIA to show up and it would've been a trio of fun."

Yeah, the intro logos gave me a bit of a laugh :)

Max settings, 4xAA, 1920x1200:

Average FPS: 57
Min. FPS: 43

Runs pretty nicely :) Love the water ripples.

Bah. My overclocked 5850 only gets 38 av, 34 min with 1920 x 1200, 4 x AA, ultra settings.

Not sure why so low tbh. Pretty much same scores with 8xaa as well.

im getting about 68fps average on my runs.

will the demo auto run at DX11 ? im using windows 7 and a 5870 or do i need to add some switch to the startup.

I was assuming i would be getting 45 ish FPS reading others reports on my stock 5870 but im seeing high sixties. MY i7 is at 4ghz ?

Because of the high FPS i was wondering if it was running in DX9 allthought it looks cracking.

Worst 'benchmark' ever. I think it was made just so people can go "ooooooh it looks and runs fine so I will buy it" anyway...

1680*1050, Ultra, 4xAA, 8800GT, x2 3800+, 2gb

Avg - 34fps

You dont mention the res or settings craig, I set in to ultra and I see in the config xml file tesselation is on, check it.

1920x1200 ultra 4xAA DX11 - ~60fps average for me

I think it's a good benchmark for testing actual ingame performance unlike some which try to simulate ingame performance and forget calculating ai and stuff also affects fps

sorry

1920x1200 Ultra settings 8x AA

im on a 5870 Asus rampage gene 6gb ram and i7 920 @ ghz

i play in 3rd person mode maximum zoom distance

my min FPS was 45 and max 69 with avg of 68 something (thats from memory)

il run it again tonight and try some 5760x1200 eyefinity lol

I can't seem to get any more from this game lol, mine just hovers when racing on 3rd person maximum zoom 43fps, this on a 5850@850/1200 i can't believe upgrading from a [email protected]/3.3 would make that much difference on a i5 for example.
