Help needed, My google skills are about as good as a chocolate fireguard so im asking you guys the question,

What is Eyefinity? Ive seen loads of posts about it on this forum but have no idea what the hell it is!!

What is TrackIR also?

And finally people are posting that they have multiple monitors, whats the point of this unless your wanting to display the same image in 2 rooms I guess. Apologies for the probably simple questions but im interested to know.

Cheers all.

:O.
Eyefinity is running multiple monitors as one resolution, mainly for gaming, but it sucks on 2 screens until they sort out bezel management.

Eyefinity is a similar technology to that used by Matrox to span an image across multiple monitors rather than mirror the image on the multiple monitors.

I use 3 monitors for a Triple Head to Go set up where I have a resolution of 5040 *1050 spanning all 3 monitors.

As for Track IR, this is a technology that uses a piece of hardware that you place on your head and anther item that sits on the top of your monitor.

In some games then it can be used so pick up your head movements and translate them into game movements. e.g if you look left, then the character in an FPS will look left. If you lean your head left, then the character will lean left etc etc. If you want to see it in action have a search on YouTube as there are some good example of it there. It's an intersting technology, but you neeed to keep your eyes on the screen while moving your head in different directions.

Cheers all. It looks pretty amazing I must say. Just watched a clip on youtube of a guy playing crysis warhead and I was like Wow. Shame i play in sli!! It really does look that good. Upgrading my complete system in the new year to an i7 rig and I might just try and go down that route, it looks that good and hopefully by then the newest ati cards might have dropped a bit in price to. Cheers for all your help.

Eyefinity is a new technology from AMD to make one large logical display from several physical ones such as 3 monitor side by side.

TrackIR is a piece of hardware/software you can buy to track your head movements/angle/rotation and map that into games that support it, which is currently only ArmaII i think.

Just to note from this response there are dozens of games that currently support Track IR, most FPS, Flight Sims and Car Racing sims will be ok with it.

Haven't got a complete list, but if your game falls into one of those categories it should be ok.

Have a look at YouTube for DCS Black Shark which is a helicopter sim which really shows it working well.
