Twilight Fans are pretty hardcore

I actually kinda liked the first one, but the second which I've just watched was god awful, I mean seriously.

I hope Jacob eats the whole lot of em' in the third one.
 
Not really... most sci-fi geeks aren't open about being sci-fi fans at all, unless they are around other fans, whereas this Twlight rubbish is somehow 'cool' and mainstream. The two fan groups aren't alike in anyway at all.
 
It's because these girls treat it like a fashion accessory whereas scifi geeks don't.

I like a bit of Sci Fi but I'm not going to scratch myself so Bones can fix me up or get a tattoo on my forehead or something :p
 
I watched the first film with exceedingly low expectations (harry potter low) as my wife had recommended it, thankfully it wasn't as awful as I'd imagined and so I decided to read the books...

Apart from the last part of the third book they're pretty dire; the fourth book was building up to be a pretty epic fight with italian vampires vs. paedophile werewolves and it was completely ruined. The second film was terrible, and now I'm stuck knowing I have to watch the next two as they get released around our anniversary and I took an interest. :mad:
 
wtf is this? Sparkly sun vampires? Wtf the closest to sparkling they are ment to get is when they burst into flames and turn to ash in the sunlight. aahh

I think Harry Potter is much better than this film series, man.

I may agree with you now, but I still maintain that Harry Potter is woeful; none of the then kids can act and I always pictured Mrs Weasely as a milf in the books. :(

every time i see people who are this obsessed with something , films , games etc

I die a little it inside

Hopefully this is some giant darwinian experiment, where all these strange people will be lured into the pit of nasty pain doom death time by a promise of seeing there new game/film/stamp colletion

There's quite a few interesting articles on twilight. I think theoatmeal did one.

Basically women see Bella as themselves because she's a boring empty shell and can be easily associated with because she has the problem normal women do (periods, mood swings etc). Women subsequently get really drawn into the story, and Edward being the perfect kinda guy fool themselves into thinking that they can get interesting monster men too.

Chicks are weird.

Pseudo-vampire film for teenage girls. Ridiculously popular. Man with face that looks like foot is apparently Greek-God like to billions of young girls and middle aged women. The end.
