**The Dragon Age Origins Thread **

Quality game this, just over 60 hours on my 1st 'overly thorough' play through. I don't tend to replay games often but i am tempted as it seems i have missed a lot! Think I will take it easy and just play through the origins before I embark on another 50+ hours game.

my game corrupted sometime before the weekend, i cant lvl up or change areas now. Any idea what happened?

Tried uninstalling toolset, disabling all mods but nothing.

It would be worth taking this to the Bioware support forums as well, if you haven't already done so.

Now that I have completed it once I am starting to mess about with the various mods people have done. Next week I might download the tools and see how hard it is to craft your own encounters.

Anyone else download the free Dagger called the "Edge"? It's decents for Dex Melee fighters.

I notice more Magic doesn improve how much a Mage can heal. So If I make a Healer Mage on another play through I may as well Just add enough Magic to cast Heal and Party Heal and put everything else into Wisdon.

shame the heal reuse time sucks.

Perhaps, but frankly if all you do with your mage is cast Heal/Group then there is no way in hell you'd be able to handle it fights. Higher Magic/Spellpower will have an effect on it. But you also need it to make your crowd control/damage spells better.

On a side note, 115 Spellpower = 91 Group Heal, 73 Heal
80 Spellpower = 76 Group Heal, 61 Heal
39 Spellpower = 59 Group Heal, 47 Heal

Admittadly its not much for the huge investment, but the reason your using Heal is to avoid necking loads of Health potions and the difference would add up. The recharge times aren't low enough to make spam better than powerful heals.

Ive found a dwarf that looks just like Barbara Streisand!

Hahaha, nice work.

On an unrelated note, got caught out by the subtelty of the game. Didn't drink the potion in Soldeirs Peak (because it was blatantly evil), missed out on the 2 new skills... can't reload.

Bit dodgy, if you ask me.

Well it turns out I just suck at this game.

What's the best class to play on this game? I rolled a warrior but heard mages supposed to kick ass?

Anyway, I'm not that far in at all, I'm with about 3 other guys and I seem to really struggle in an encounter of about 4 or so people. We get burnt down really fast. What am I doing wrong?

I find mages rather dull , rogues f.tw imo :)

focus on the dual wield talents first ( the 3 lines in that section ) and then go into your rogue spec , bards are useful for group buffs , assasins are for dps debuff boosts , duelist is kind of a tanking/dps dagger rogue and ranger is kinda obvious :)

Larger encounters can be tricky at the start of the game before you get some of the juicier spells and skills Try making the party hold position (H) and pull a few mobs first before charging in.
