MS Finally Offering PC Digital Games Distro

Gotta say it's about damn time Microsoft and even then the launch titles are very lacklustre, so hopefully soon and quickly there will be more games added.

They really should put up a catalogue of some of their older developed games to add a little more interest in it. Though that probably means they may have to spend time and resources to integrate the Games For Windows Live interface into them.

Am praying that this never takes off.....Unless all the games am interested in are also on steam

The last thing i want is some games on this Games on Demand app and other games on steam app

I can only see it as a good thing. We need more big players in the digital distribution market. The more competition the better it is for the consumer.

they dont seem to have got the idea, i dont want 3/4 multiple apps to get the same games.

It's not that bad.. I'm running Steam, Impulse and EA-DM. The way I see it, I'm running three apps for ~130 games - it still beats running installers from individual CD/DVDs ;)

Finally, I was wondering when MS were going to get their act together and get something like this up and running. My prediction would be that we are the test bed considering how it's okay get things wrong with and annoy PC gamers and either a new refresh of the xBox, or a new xBox will be released in a year or twos time supporting digital distribution.

The 360 already has GOD doesn't it?

Just curious AWPC, your not The Weaponeer are you ? :p

Anyway, shall be interesting to see exactly how MS' offerings are different from the rest.

No mate I'm not & thats an insult ;) The Weaponeer means well and has done a lot in his own time to promote GFWL but is a little bit fanatical & overbearing shall we politely say!!!!

Is it? So if a game costs USD 30, MS will sell to the EU at GBP 30 - that's bad news is it not?

Unless I've misunderstood, i.e. you were joking, or didn't mean £1:$1, have a .
My understanding is that it means the for example $30 game converts to £19 @ current exchange rates so its bound to be a positive move as MS intend to offer the US$ exchange to UK (& presumably €) whereby the $ is always the currency before conversion so unlike Steam MS are not looking to make much profit from this its designed more as move to get developers back to the PC & get some development innovation going again as MS realised no PC innovation is very bad news for future consoles technology ;)

I can dream but I hope some xbox arcade games come to the PC ;)
They will eventually its still being developed as the DRM needs to be perfected otherwise its not going to happen. Star Trek DAC was rumoured to be the PC launch title but MS decided to get GOD done first.

Yeah Games on Demand launched this summer on X360.
Not much use went most the xbox360's come with very small harddrives (20gb to 120gb)

Only the super elite has a 250GB...and even that really way to small for downloading full games onto..

Valve, on the other hand, were always a great developer, even when steam sucked. Microsoft, on the other hand...well, they could have the slickest front end in the universe, but behind it all they'll still be microsoft.

But when they put their mind to it they can do great things. Look at the 360 or the Zune HD. Hell, look at Windows 7.

They'll get their act together, trust me. It may take them a couple of years but just you wait.

No thanks, I use a mix of online store and Steam

I don't wana mess about with bloomin EA, game, D2D, microsoft download services, geez, keep it simple stupid!
