Zotac have released a new version of the GeForce 9300 Mini-ITX MB, GF9300-I-E, see http://techreport.com/discussions.x/18056. Makes one wonder what was wrong with the rather short-lived GF9300-G-E, which is too similar to the new MB to be allowed to co-exist with it. The new GF9300-I-E comes with three internal SATA ports (just as the GF9300-G-E), an overclocked GPU with a black heatsink, and a BIOS with more tweaking and overclocking options, including undervolting by 0.1V.

hmm thats nice, makes a good htpc bored even better with wake on usb and and extra sata port for 2 hdds and a optical drive.

This does make interesting reading, I'll wonder is that overclocked GPU going to cost much more, does seem very similar to the GE, one of whihc i bought and put into service.

whats the difference between this and the zotac ion 330s?

The Ions have onboard CPU (Intel Atom) and GPU, both are a bit weedy.

The entire point of the 9300 is that it has a 775 socket - so you can stuff core duos or quad cores in AND it has a x16 PCI-e slot so you can smack on a massive graphics card/something else that fits in a pci-e slot but mostly it's a graphics card.

It's for enthusiasts wanting a minimalist computer but still able to have a powerful desktop CPU and GPU.

hmm so im assuming the advantage of the ION is low power consumption and quieter?

Where as the 6300 is much more powerful...hmm

Wonder how the price compares with processor taken into account...i dont want to game on this as it will just be a htpc but some more processing power sounds good, problem i had before reading this was i didnt want to go over the itx size into m-atx, and this allows that.

Needs thinking about carefully, if i build a htpc i was planning to leave it on for extended periods to also act as a download engine..and also do some websurfing on it.
