I haven't bought a new game for years, i think the last one was pes6. Infact, if i do game, then it'll be on my ps2.

What i'm looking for is a game that will keep me entertained for a few months of light use. It has to be nice and easy, but plenty to do. I don't want to get stuck on a silly task or a stupidly hard boss. I just give up after a few tries and then the game is wasted!

It needs to be controlled by mouse on my PC, relaxed, fun and easy going. Just something i can sit down and relax while playing.

I have a 8600m GT in my laptop so i doubt it could cope with the latest and greatest graphics. Although i don't care that much about graphics so that really doesn't matter anyway.

The game can be new or old, i really dont mind.

Hope you can help out with some recommendations.

Thanks,

Gil.

If you like Adventure games then have a look at the Monkey Island games, Broken sword games, Syberia 1 and 2, The longest journey 1 and 2. If you don't like adventure games then i have just wasted a minute typing :D

Elderscrolls 3 Morrowind or 4 Oblivion may be good for you depending on how you approach them, loads to do and keep you entertained, though perhaps the scale would be to big for your preferences but it doesnt have to take up much of your time (though it easily can), do one quest or explore a dungeon or city etc and be done for the day.

Morrowind can be a bit hard to get into depending on your preferences, while oblivion is a bit more simple and easy to play + itll look very pretty on your laptop.

Fallout 1 & 2. These truly are art, and will keep you glued to them for months.

oh god yes this
also get the sfall mod, or the restoration project. (for fall out 2)

Adds 16 bit colour and up to 1920 resolution support :d no more jaggies :p

Also fixes the AP ammo bugs and adds in some cut content (although the writing isn't as professional as the proper stuff but still very good)

10 years on and I'm just starting another play through of fo 2 now :d

Love this game more than any other :)

Thanks for the reccomendations guys.

I've just got back from the hospital after having surgery yesterday, and i thought a good game would keep me entertained over the next few weeks while i recover.

I'll look through all the above games and pick something i think will keep me busy!

Thanks again,

Gil.

I'll pout in another vote for GalCiv 2, if you're still undecided. Best 4x space sim out there - I can't believe how many hours I've sunk into that game.

I just had a look on steam and i had no idea games were so cheap these days.

A huge list of games for £4 and under.

I think i'll give Port Royale a go, after all it's only £2.99 so even if i only play it for a few days it matters not.

If thats no good for me, i'll grab Broken Sword III for £3.99.

I'm stuck at home with nothing to do. I would wash my car but don't really have the use of my left arm after my op. I do have the use of my fingers though so i guess i'll have to fill my time playing games!

Thanks for your help guys.

Take it easy and get well soon :)

Depends on if you like casual style games etc, I would advice Peggle + Plants vs Zombies for pure mind numbing entertainment.

I seriously need to buy this after reading your many fallout worshipping posts.

Edit - Get Morrowind. Now. Do it.

personally i prefer the second to the first (bigger/less bugs/a few niggles in the engine fixed)

But both are incredibly good :D
