rage against the x-factor - Outcome: RATM is the Christmas Number One!

So basically you're all protesting against Cowell manufacturing a Christmas number 1 so your protest will be to manufacture a Christmas number 1?
Hmmm

Why don't you try and stop people from buying Cowells Christmas song instead?

I dont think its got a chance :(

As much as i dont watch xfactor and hate all the songs that become of it... im not a fan of rage either. Do.not.want.

Id like something else to be xmas no.1, no idea what tho!

Shaggy - It wasnt me, thats a timeless classic! :D lol

I see you use the term "manufacture" very very loosely.

X factor winners are manufactured and suspected to be fixed, as well as generally not very good music.

RATM is good music, they aren't manufactured, people are proposing a technical fix by all buying a RATM single, realistically though it's not really the same thing.

It's a fix to promote the values of good music and will hopefully expand a lot of people's minds.

I've lost count of the amount of people I've heard exclaim "urgh goff/white music" upon hearing an distorted electric guitar and they can't get beyond that as they want it to sound all the same to them.

It's quite pathetic and I wish it wasn't in such a way, but it is.

It's bizarre that so many people align themselves with a specific genre of music, not because they like it, but because they think they're SUPPOSED to like that type of music.

When they hear something outside what they think they SHOULD like, their preconceptions take over and all they hear is what they assume that type of music is.

Anyone can learn to sing and perform.
It takes years to perfect the art of composition and song writing.

The people simon cowell dumps out into the musical toilet don't deserve a recording deal or to get into the charts. It's just people buying it going "DURP DURP DURP, XFACTOR IS GOOD" and then buying it, then the idiot dissappears becase they SUUUUUUUUUUCK.
If i wanted a cover band I'd look in the yellow pages under the "**** weddings" section.

I'm in.

Becuase you're deemed clinically retarded if you buy it, impossible to stop these people, they'll just point at a pony and then jump up and down going "DURP DURP DURP DURP DURP"

So what he's saying is:

Don't be a sheep and buy the X-Factor single
Be a sheep and all buy this other one instead!

Awesome. I'm all for RatM pulling a surprise number one, but the irony behind this is just silly.

And by not buying it, you are a sheep for following what everyone else is doing :p

I probably won't buy either, but I'd rather RatM won than an X-factor song!

Where's the irony?

The difference is we're doing this for giggles, not we're mindless drones who will buy whatever the media tell us to.
The fact that it's RATM is just a bonus.

I wonder how many of the people that joined the group will actually buy the single though.

already own this but will see if i can buy it again on itunes :D

YES YES YES YES YES YES this would be so good to be number 1!

Because that's much more difficult? What are we going to do, stand in HMV and slap anyone who picks it up?

You know, I actually prefer that idea.

/However RATM are awesome and I lost my CD so I'll buy it.

I'll buy it.

Don't care that Cowell is going to make a truckload of cash regardless.

Don't care that I'm giving money to Sony.

Don't care that I actually watch the X-Factor sometimes.

Don't care if the song doesn't make it to Number 1.

Don't care about the supposed irony of me joining a group to 'rebel'.

Don't care that I'm wasting my money on a song I already own.

Am I missing anything?

You don't care that you're also apparently a sheep too.
