Just duct tape one of those accelerometer mice to your foot!
Touch screen is fine when it is natural to use your fingers - such as organizing files, looking at photos and flipping through pages of a book/document [all the stuff iPhones are good at basically]. But for every day things a touch screen has no advantage over your mouse at all. I certainly wouldn't want to be sat 3 inches from my monitor just so I can use my computer.
