Perhaps we should have gotten her to do the video with us :p

We get lots of inquiries and requests for more detailed instructions. And, we are trying to go that extra mile for our customers. The video can also help people decide before they buy.

I think you underestimate the foolishness of much of the population. People often do stupid things when putting PCs together, plenty of evidence on this forum!

I also find a lot of people never read bundled instructions.

I keep looking at the 800d for my new case, what i want to know is would the rad on the H50 reach to the top of the 800d? so the rad could be mounted under one of the 120mm fan holes on the top??

Yes, it will reach. I have done it both ways.

its an advert for the case face it

Well, we are certainly proud to promote our products but, the video is primarily useful to those that have already bought the H50. It's a customer support tool first.

The 800d is a lovely looking case with some truly great features, but the two things that have put me off buying it (and it was a tough call) are 1) the sheer size of it! and b) the fact that it's a £200+ case and it's made from steel... I mean seriously, a case that expensive, you'd expect at least alu.

Looking forward to the next gen though :)

Im not struck on the idea of pumping hot air into the case - my case is quite cool, would it be possible/advisable to mount it the other way so air exhausts out of the top fan (Antec 300 case)

I have the same case and have mine blowing out, i tried it both ways and it made no difference to the temps. I have the two 120mm fans in the front of the case and the 120mm on the side all blowing in so lots of fresh air..

Whaffor?

It's not a lanparty case. Aluminium is only better if you're trying to make a structure within a set weight. But if you use the same volume of steel it's a stronger case.

Thought the vid was quite good myself. Will be thinking about one of these for my new build, shame it's not 10 quid cheaper though...

I'm guilty of this.

Steel is loads better for sound dampening, it weighs far more so resonates at a lower (less annoying) set of harmonics than aluminium. If my omega was all steel I wouldn't have had to mass load the panels. That said I hope I never have to carry my case a significant distance now that it is mass loaded and full of water.

Thanks for the video, a fair few people on here seem to have struggled with the installation.

Have yet to find a steel case as well built as my zalman gt900. Every steel case I've used has been made of cold rolled steel sheet - does exactly what it's supposed to but does it nasty.

Although I've modded mt gt for a double rad I doubt I'll stop there and there isn't any room for anything more. The corsair case does look nice and seems a dream to use - I might have to go find one to fiddle with.

As for the H50 - fitting was a doddle even for me but after answering dozens of questions about the installation I can see why they've done the video. One thing yellowbeard.... How come you guys went with the screws you did opposed to m3 / m3.5 like most of the rads I've come across? Made fitting my H50 into my m3 drilled case a right pita!

Sorry to hijack this thread but I wanted to ask JonJ678 a question...

Jon, you said you have the Akasa Omega case, yes? I don't suppose you could tell me what you think is the maximum length of a video card that could be installed in it would be (without modding)?

I am currently in the middle of moving house and mine is all packed up but really would like to know.

Cheers.

Understandable why they have made this.
Found the installation for mine (775) to be extremely straight forward, but at the same time I wasn't particularly sure what to expect when I got it, this preview will help a few people towards buying I'm sure.

i am currently thinking about doing this as well. blowing air inside this high in a case is a bad idea in my opinion, all the air coming in from the fans on the side panels heats up from the gfx/hdds and gets even hotter with this.
i will give it a spin sometime next week once i get those 2 new drives

Yep, I do. I make it 35cm not including cables sticking out of hard drives or out of the graphics card. Feel fairly confident in saying any at all will fit. If you took out the 5 3.5" bays you could fit 45cm cards, without modding.

Interested in one of these, now sadly the case i am using is carp to put it mildly which case ? i see a few have the Antec 300 and its reasonably priced anyone with other recommendations around that price ?

I hope having this will enable a higher overclock on my Q6600.
