Can Blind people dream?

Of course people born blind can dream. They need to dream. IIRC they just don't see anything and dream with their other senses, although it probably varies from person to person.

I imagine people who go blind later in life dream, not sure about people who are born blind though.

What would they dream of? Would they just hear sounds?

I read an article a while ago that showed it was completely impossible to make up peoples faces in your dreams. All the faces that appear are real faces, people you may know or have just seen anywhere, in any part of your life.

Quite an interesting thought.

Psychology is 100% theory.

Whatever the article you read states, it is little more than someones opinion, rather than scientific fact.

Sorry but so wrong being blind myself and know many who have been blind from birth, We do dream and with images and colour just not in the same way as you think.

A blind from birth person has no knowledge of what say grass colour really looks like the brain fills
in the blanks with some very strange results.

As someone who gradualy lost my sight i still have risidual memory of what certain things should be like but again my brain at sleep does play tricks like grass could be curly and blue lol
just because someone is blind doesn't mean we can't visualise in our mind and dreams.

Why is it that so many people think dreaming has anything to do with the eyes as all of you know you dream with your eyes shut and you all dream quite fine, Why should we be any differant. :D

Can Blind people dream?
ah no the real question is "Can Blind people see?"
and to that i can answer "no"

Everybody dreams (except in incredibly unusual medical scenarios), including people who were blind from birth. They dream in smells, sounds and colours rather than objects and visualisations of scenarios.

I don't see any reason why they couldn't dream, but their dreams may just be lacking visual details such as faces or objects. Say for example if I dream about walking down the street, I would assume a blind person could have the same dream, but without experiencing the visual part, and just experience smells/sounds/touch/taste. I do wonder if blind people can "see" colours/shapes whilst dreaming though, as it would be their brain creating the images directly without stimulation from their eyes.
