Couldn't they at least have chosen a song that isn't owned by Sony BMG? It's like the Leonard Cohen thing last year, people bought a song they wouldn't have bought if not to "stick it to Cowell" and Sony laughed all the way to the bank as it's just more money in their pocket.

Thinking about this, the thing that really winds me up with the X Factor is the leveraging of popularity in one field - TV - to exercise power in another field - music.

god i hate x-factor, if its on my in my front room and i walk in because they want to ask me something i stand outside the door and insist that if they want to communicate with me they can come outside the room.

I know it sounds extreme mate, but contrary to what i am saying i am quite a reasonable person, xfactor when its on takes over the TV and indeed 2 members of our families evening (my mum and my sister) so much so that my Dad will quite often not sit in the front room anymore and neither will i because its such a load of guff! it was worse when the dancing was on which is just as bad because then it just seemed to go on forever!
