Hi guys

I am writing an essay for uni and I am having trouble finding recent articles of violence and killings that have been affected by computer games, if you know of any it would be great help. Also if you know any other information please feel free to share it.

Thanks Martyn

I think there was a story last year about a guy who travelled to a different country and killed somebody over an argument in a forms (COD v Halo maybe) then drove back, if that helps at all.

May i ask what you're actually doing?

WW2 started because Hitler's Xbox was banned from Xbox Live.

Also Napoleon got the idea to conquer Europe after playing Tetris.

Helpful: you are not.

There was a story when COD MW2 launch a few weeks ago about contriversal airport level and how games often portray acts of massive war crimes but dont show the consequnces. I think I read the story on the BBC.

Doesnt your uni have emerald search or an alternative? Surely there will be tonnes from round the world on that?

And how does that relate to violence and killings linked to pc games?

Unless you are suggesting that gamers are responsible for warcrimes:confused:

Sloth furs exhibit specialized functions: the outer hairs grow in a direction opposite from that of other mammals. In most mammals, hairs grow toward the extremities, but because sloths spend so much time with their legs above their bodies, their hairs grow away from the extremities in order to provide protection from the elements while the sloth hangs upside down.

Maybe that is because despite the Daily Mails protestation to the contrary, there are only a few incidents of violence and killings that have been affected by computer games?

Frankly if you are at Uni and have hit a brick wall this early into a peice of work, give up.

I don't think there are any major crimes that were influenced by video games in the important sense.

There are crimes directly related to games, yes, such as when someone's in-game property is destroyed, but that could just as easily have happened if someone destroyed their vintage Toby Jug collection. How many nutters are there out there who would attempt to kill me if I keyed their car?

There are crimes "linked" to games, but they caused the crime in as much as Catcher in the Rye caused Lennon's assassination.

I've played violent video games, (MK2 and the like) when I was young, watched Terminator and the like. I've never been violent, and certainly no murders have been linked to me.

There are tons of articles, just by a google - but they are both for and against. There isn't a "yes, they are going to make you a killer" or "no, they won't do anything to you" conclusion, just people assuming / having opinions.
