dirt 2 benchmarks dx9 vs dx 11

1920x1200, 8xAA - Ultra (DX11).
Min: 69.5fps
Avg: 76.0fps

I can get it higher if I clock my card further but then the fan noise starts to become an issue, and long term it doesn't seem like a good idea. Interestingly, it seems there is no penalty to using 8xAA over 4xAA.

anyone have an idea why my fps is so low? im running a e6600 @ 3.2, win 7 64, 4gb ram

What board and GPU/S are you running?

I am getting that sort of FPS with an E8400 @ 3.8 running 5770 crossfire on an IP35 Pro mobo.

Something very wrong with mine!! and its all down to the PCi express slot speed :(

im using a abit aw9d max, which both cards run at x8, just disabled crossfire, and my fps shoots up to 32! crossfire works fine in any other game

does fraps show the fps in the counter on screen while racing as I have tried it a couple of times and it did not show, and fraps is ok in other games

Have you got vsync enabled as when I do the frames are about 30, with it off they are 57 average all max 1920x1080

I got the demo as I am awaiting a 5970 for some DX11 action and thought I'd try the game out on my GTX first ... looks good and I wanted to like it but alas there are issues!

Just wondering if the full game is as buggy as the demo? I got the latest released demo and I get 60 fps on Ultra/8xCSAA Settings ... then I race again and I get all of 17fps on some occasions! have to get out to windows and start the game again ...

And it does not like my Momo FF Wheel either - without the FF and decent reflection of the wheel/pedal inputs which seem to actually be more like on/off then this has to be a no no for me .. shame as it looks like it might be fun but at this rate I'll flog the code off! Those menus and auto camera are pants too ...

getting min fps=48.55 average fps=55.92 at 1680x1050 with 8xAA and set at ultra , performing better that expected tbh and shows crossfire is working

Something similar happened to me in Dirt 1 with my SLI GTX8800. It would sail along aty 50 + frames, multi car or rally, but as soon as i "smashed" the windscreen, it would drop to 15-20 frames for the rest of the race, though changing from cockpit view to bonnet veiw gave me my 50 frmaes back odd i thought. Now though, however, I only have one GFX Card in(GTX8800) and it never does this now!, it was an SLI problem (disabling the SLI didn't do the trick, i had to "physically " remove the card.

Dirt II seem fine so far though

well internet came back on yesterday and downloaded straight away.

Games is aceness. Ran the bench but forgot what the score was as i was more interested in burning round some tracks.

will run it again later to see what i'm getting but everything is on high or ultra and 4x and it's running smooth. graphics look ace too.

for once a free game which is definitely worth having
