2.0 TDCI (2006) 116k miles - with one little scratch on the bumper.

Hi guys,

I've been offered the above for £2,100.

It has been used as a company car, with full ford service history.

What do you think?

its a bit pricey imho.

£1,800 with that mileage.

edit. I didnt see the year, it's very young. I'd still want it for less with that mileage.

Thanks guys.

I am tempted. I had a 98 Clio, cambelt snapped a long time ago when driving it and I don't have a motor at the moment.

It is meant to be in good condition. Will have to have a think about it.

If its been a company car there should be a record of any replacement flywheel (DMF) or injectors - I'd be much happier if at least the flywheel had been replaced recently

Are you joking? How much less do you want it for? It's a 2006! You are talking as if it has 400k on it it or something, it's only just topped 100k

Fox is right - it's a bargain. Companies tend to look after cars that do high milage as well.

Wouldn't stop me asking for a cheeky £100 off though. :p

£2k is a good price for a company owner, FFSH, 2006/100k Mondeo assuming its in good condition and engine is running well from cold without any problems. Just budget some money (say £1k - £1.5k) for the eventual clutch/injector replacements.

Not being sold by DannyW's quality used cars is it?

I can't say I have heard of that place.

It isn't through a dealer as such. A friend's friend buys cars from time to time from these companies. Not really sure how it works. He just said he had got this for sale.

OK, so we think it is a bargain. Now I am being told by another friend that for someone like me it isn't so great because I cycle to work (2 miles away), and it isn't really a great car for popping into town with. I also won't be starting a family any time soon.

Ugh, the decisions. The idea of investing a lot into it in the future isn't great either :D.. but for 2006/ and £2000 it does see good.

Its a great buy, especially if you wont be doing a lot of miles - it will bring the mileage down to a more acceptable yearly average.

If you dont buy it let MrLOL buy it instead!

Get it inspected and providing there is nothing uber wrong with it buy it. Consider it to be very cheap motoring for the next few years. I'd imagine you could even drive it for a few years and make a profit on it - which is why I'd spend the £50-£100 to get it inspected first.

His wife would have a fit if he needed to spend a grand on engine repairs.

Bloody sporty Mondeo diesels! :D

Well spend £2.5k on a Fiesta twice the age instead then

It probably wont be, especially as they were revised in 2005 - but it probably will after a year or 2 of doing nothing but trips around the corner
