Wow... I've been having a great time. Saw a lot of cheaters during the first week or so after the game came out. But since then, I can count the number of cheaters I've seen on one hand. I get a few laggy matches here and there, but this past weekend was probably the worst it's been. It's fine so far this evening though.

what i really miss are the epic CTF/TDM matches that could last for hours
5-10min matches suck
also miss the consistency of playing on the same server with other regulars
it really annoys me this game could have been truly great but they had to go and **** it up

Well, around 20 hours clocked up and I have to say,hating the new server arrangement.
gone are the days of community building and regular peeps on every night.
Also, a few annoying bugs, "can not connect to host" happened a lot tonight, total reboot a couple of times sorted this.
finally the old "ATI driver has stopped working " thingy ma bob....finished my session off.
Hmmm, great game with great flaws.

My entire night i was playing against cheaters... Like 5 people would die at once, all of them head shots. Being at the opposite end of a map and being killed by the same person each time you respawned within one second of spawning. Air strikes and nukes going off left right and center. VAC doesnt do a damn thing!

I just played a bit of MW2 mp and decided to see what MW1 mp was like again, having not played it for a few months and it feels so different to MW2...

I have nearly 3 days of gameplay racked up, and i have to say, hand on heart i have only run into about 3 or 4 people that appeared to be hacking beyond belief.
Sabotage seems to be the best game type i have played as some of the rounds go on for ages with epic battles and the timer getting down to 1 second and then defused lol, fly by the seat of ur pants type of thing!!
there seems to be some speculation running around that Dedi files MAY be produced to satisfy PC gamers.
IMHO dedi servers would make this game so much better, as IWnet dont really have a clue.
When they said 'it will be nearly hack/cheat/aim bot free' all that did was show a bull a red flag (and then some)
The biggest pain in the butt for me is the fact that almost every flipping area can be jumped onto or into or over to get to a stupid glitch area, and also the crazy azz 1887 shotguns, which are fun but so IMBA its unreal.
Dedi servers may be the only way to keep it alive on PC platform, as so many different forums are filled with members swearing the hatred for this and that about MW2 and IWnet.

Well been trying to play Spec Ops with my bro (over the internet we don't live in the same place)... which in theory would be great...
But getting lag quite badly at times and without a netgraph can't tell if its because of my connection i.e. someone dling, his PC or connection not upto it or what... gg IW you muppets.
Tried playing a couple of matches online and while playable ish at times it was nothing like as smooth and responsive as a dedicated server would be and at times warping so badly could hardly move through a door.
Talk about fail... as its basically a COD4 mod to all intents and purposes... they've actively disabled features that work fine and didn't need changing in any way to develop MW2.
I deff. won't be buying the next COD game unless they pull a massive patch out within weeks that actually makes it worth playing on the PC...

Haha I wondered that and then in the end just paid the full asking price for it. Not an absolutely amazing game by any means, but not terrible either.
The single player is quite good and there's loads of cool moments in there but MP is where it's really at. Shame they couldn't give us dedi servers though. I'm yet to see any cheaters but I think the matchmaking system is rubbish.
No I'm on BT hes on Eclipse.
Just been doing some tracerts tho and some of the core routers are pinging 50-80 with spikes to 200ms... but without a netgraph how was I to know
Prolly same issue affecting VM.
So the lag isn't entirely MW2...

He said IW.net would have "less laggy gameplay".
When were dedicated servers ever laggy unless your internet was playing up, or you were downloading. The man clearly knows jack **** about PC gaming. All he seemed to do was promote the XBOX 360 version of the game!

Akimbo really annoys me, it cheapens the look of the game. Much prefer the whole war feel with Javelin, nades, choppers going off and fire coming from all corners.
Ground war takes 10+ minutes to find a game for usually, and then you lag like a mad one.
I saw a boon of hackers a few days ago, but it seems to have died down a bit.
I wish they had ground war for all match types, and 3rd person. 3rd person is actually really fun, and a good chance to see how well concealed your character is for First person later on.
One question, do you think Javelin use is regarded 'nooby' and on par with noob-tubing?
I don't care, it's bloody fun!

Does anyone get graphical lag when the HDD runs?
Been having this problem since the beginning, can't seem to resolve it. Got an 8800GTS and FPS is fine, but then it will stutter and if I check the HDD light, it's on/flickering. It's always the same. I've tried the latest NVIDIA drivers, and installing the Intel storage INF files, no change.
It happens mostly in MP, but also happened a bit in SP very badly on the museum credits sequence.
Any ideas? Thanks.

is it just me or is the javelin useless at shooting down AC130's, choppers etc
i aim lock on and shoot then the thing flies off never to be seen again
and it only has 1 shot before its out of ammo

Harriers it's a diamond to shoot with, AC130 and Apache usually cause a bit of havok before I can finally take them down.

AC130 has active counter-measures, so the first shot will always miss (unless someone else already had a shot)
im not sure with the javelin, shot down 2 AC130s with it, one shot and it's been down, so i think it may just be the stinger and the first launcher who's name i forget.
