lol just had a hilarious game where a US player accused a Portuguese player of cheating and then they went on to insult each other over the voice com

anyway why is a player from the UK getting matched up with someone from the US and possibly portugal over p2p

no wonder its a lag fest most of the time :rolleyes:
 
Anoyone getting this problem.

Playing MP it kicks me out back to the desktop, does not come out of the game though so i can go back in and keep playing. Does this several times.

Win 7 64 bit.

Anyone have this problem?
 
Finaly got around the playing this after I got it for a decent price.

Single Player = 10/10, absolutely loved it, a brilliant mesh of gritty realism and really awesome action silliness, the voice acting was great though why they used the voice fof Gaz for ghost I will never understand and it really got on my nerves, it just seemed like either fan service or them trying to create pointless mystery.

All in all really enjoyed it.

I've mentioned it a few times in this thread now but this worked for me:

Modern Warfare 2 will minimize randomly on its own.
Solution 1 : Do a virus scan.

Solution 2 : AVG Anti-Virus ? - If you upgraded from 8.5 to 9.0 without making a clean install this issue can arise.

Download the file called "avg_free_stf_en_90_704a1756" (google it)

uninstall AVG and completely remove all user settings (there's an option for it when you uninstall it)

reboot computer and run the new file

Its sad seeing how much lag this game has especially when you get an end of round kill, the guy i nailed was already around the corner yet i see a spurt of blood coming out of thin air after he was already behind the wall. That being said he was an akimbo shotgun whore. :mad:

I find it really amusing that people call the m203 grenade launcher in ths a noob weapon, yet the same isnt said about the thumper (same bloody thing but a standalone weapon) or people whoring the akimbo\marathon perk. :rolleyes:
 
This game is a ****ing joke. So much lag, **** match making and again, **** loads of lag. They need to sort it out because it's beyond a joke.
 
If i get Lag i usually explain to the host its because of him (you can usualy tell who it is by the ping bars), and ask him to leave.

It's surprising how many people will leave, Then it can pick a new and hopefully better host.
 
It really is a joke, how can they possibly think that IWNet is fine and better than dedicated servers. All it has done it cause problems the ****ing idiots. They must have invested too much in it to then throw it away and have forced us to use this crap system.
 
It's most definitely worse.

Once I manage to actually connect to a game, and then quit and repeat the process until I find a decent 'server', I find the game isn't that bad.

I mean, that's if I ignore the fact that if I want to play on a specific map or map type (ie: sniping), I have to keep reconnecting until I it puts me in a lobby which is going to play that map. Though of course, once I've done that, half the time it will either start moving people to other lobbies until I get a nice lobby closed message, or I get moved to another lobby playing a different map. Yay.

I'll keep playing it until I get bored or a better game comes out (bgbc2!!). Regardless, I will not be buying another COD game ever unless it has dedicated servers. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and hoped that they'd come up with something that at least worked right most of the time, but IWNET does not.

They just didn't want to spend money on servers for the pc version when cod4 had p2p match making and waw. It makes sense business wise, but its a dick move to the pc community.

That's so far from the truth. It cost them a lot of money to build IWNET. ALso, MW2 is built on COD4 which already had the code in it for dedi servers, in fact, the guys who are modding in dedi server support are able to do so because the base for it is still in the game afaik so it would have been far easier to keep dedi server support. As for spending money on servers, they don't spend a cent. All the COD4 servers you play on are rented or owned by the public. My clan has our own dedicated server which we use to host 3 COD4 servers and it's not cheap.

They did it for 2 reasons and 2 reasons only.
1. They can now easily charge for DLC instead of giving it away for free.
2. They can bring in more 'casual gamers' who really only jump on for a few games and then leave. These people have no interest in community, competitions or clans.

That is the only reason why i can only see why they keep saying IWNET.net is the forward for pc gaming, bring in month subscriptions is the only thing they want now they have seen how much they can get away with it.
 
no one on the PC side will pay a subs. to play an fps game... dumb console gamers might... which means future COD games may not even make it to the PC... which hopefully means a more enthusiast led project more intouch with PC gaming gets a look in.
