I made a 300 mile round trip

I never said it was asgood just it gets compaired , The accord pushs around 200bhp/ton and is a road/track designed car .

Compairing the accord to the CSL is just stupid and could understand everyone jumping but lets see its all the bmw people jumping on this now what a suprise

dude, the accord type R is not an M3 rival.

seriously, what is it with people on here comparing cars that aren't comparable in the slightest?

Ok chaps. Lets all quickly take a breath, and have an agreement that all can be redeemed.

IF, we were talking about a DC2 ITR in either 96 or 98 spec, I would 100% support you that they are an incredible car, incredible for the money and for the obscene level of engineering honda put into them. Hand porting each B18 engine, getting 25/25/25/25 weight on the wheels, wind tunnel testing for downforce on the car, everything like that...

HOWEVER. we are not. We are talking about an Accord R. A car which is a great bit of fun, but it really is an absolute act of insanity to suggest them anywhere close to an M3. I would think very carefully and it would be in a certain set of circumstances that I compared even an S2000 to an M3.

The Accord R is great, leave it at that. It's also no where near 200 bhp per tonne, I dont even think my s2k is, and that is signficantly quicker than an Accord R.

Please. Please do not continue this act of madness of comparing them or even suggesting they are whispered in the same grouping.

The Honda Accord is a Ford Mondeo class car. The Honda Accord Type-R is the fast, focused, sporting variant of this Mondeo class car. It might be the best of its type, it might not, thats a matter of opinion but it remains a Mondeo class car.

It is not a BMW M3. It should not be compared to a BMW M3. To do so undermines the credibility of the Accord Type-R's genuine talent.

Much better version of what I just wrote.

Sorry i love bmw and ford , they are the best . Can I be in your elite group now please as Accords are slow and really slow compaired to all other cars mentioned in this thread esp the S2K as all honda fans know there the gods of all Hondas .

Where was an Accord Type-R compared to an M3? That is what people are laughing at. I'm sure a viable link will shut people up.

You can't seriously take that standpoint.

Are you seriously, honestly, and truthfully of the standpoint they compare to M3's? with respect, have you even been out in one?

Yes I have , I posted pictures of my mates one .

My car weighs in at 1150kg and 235bhp - Maths = 208bhp/ton

How many people here have driven an ATR ? How many know the spec on mine ?
