Take control of the game once and for all with the Alienware M15x. Grab the reins of this 15.6" powerhouse with blazing-fast graphics, the latest in processor technology and high-definition capabilities all in a devilishly sleek design. The Intel Core i7 mobile processor will take you even further with features like Intel's Hyper-Threading and Turbo Boost technologies that power through games and multimedia applications all at the same time.

The M15x’s case design protects your world with aggressive lines and an in-your-face attitude that quickly dissipates system heat and looks good doing it.

Alienware Command Center provides intuitive, user-friendly access to exclusive applications and controls, including AlienFX lighting effects software and the AlienFusion power management system. Updates and new releases download directly into Command Center, creating a constantly evolving tool for modifying and personalising your M15x.

Stealth Mode is designed to throttle back the CPU and GPU to decrease the energy consumption and noise output of the M15x. To engage Stealth Mode, simply use the Stealth Mode odometer, conveniently located above the keyboard with the touch-sensitive controls.

Slackworth - have you an email address I can contact you directly at, I don't want to publicly defame Alienware on your own forums as this could be bad for business however they have severely messed myself (personal) and my work institution around.

I think Slackworth is already aware of the possible issues, a few of us came forward about issues *etc* with Alienware/Dell when he first announced these as being purchasable from OcUK.

He's already stated if anyone has issues with them to speak with OcUK as he can try and put pressure on Dell to get things sorted.

Fair enough - but i'd not like OCUK tarred with the same stick that Alienware brandish as they are law unto themselves and are virtually criminal in their belief and practice.

Amen, the amount of actual small courts summons they had, and even larger threatened with is amazing for a large company, thier ignorance/feigned disbelief in local trade laws is staggering!
(I've had this confirmed off a guy who works in the legal business too)

We had to claim back via Section 75 (credit law) and hold our bank jointly liable. Not a nice situation - they even lost my 8 seperate complaints mysteriously ;)

Being based in EIRE they are immune from UK Law, however Credit cards are not and apply to all purchases worldwide.

It's a bit all over the place, the 'support' is in east europe now for example.

Language barrier is one word for it - I received a follow-up email from their 'Escalation Manager' yesterday and it was worthy of being published in a joke book the amount of tripe he was spouting!

I'd copy/paste but OCUK probably wouldn't appreciate it.

No, I know the feeling...sounds similar to when the manager I was speaking to lost the email he was sure he had sent...but it wasn't in his out box...for 3 days. And one of the normal support staff ended up sending it not him!

A couple of them over there genuinely tried to help, but the vast majority of the 15 or so people I spoke to were muppets.

It was Andrej (the manager) who I spent many fruitless hours trying to talk to.

"Hi i'd like to return the PC for repair"
"6 week turn around OK?"
"No"
"OK, unrealistic repair time, refund time"
"No"
"OK"
"Bank is refunding me via Section75, they say I need to send you the PC back, so you get to keep my money and you get the system back OK? I need an RMA"
"No we cannot give you that - claiming money off your bank for Alienware purchase is illegal, we will take you to court !"

Hahah, I think I may have spoken to him, think he was the one who 'sent me the promised email'...or not.

Absolutely ****ing useless, and a real shame. AW used to have a decent reputation, they were THE overclocked/power desktop or laptop to have.

Dell have owned them for a few years now, the service only went through the floor in the last year or two it seems from a few other ex-owners I've spoken to.

I just received my m15x system and it does not seem to have a blu-ray drive as stated. I haven't got a blu-ray disk to try it out but going into the drive properties under hardware it says .....TSSTcorp DVD+RW TS-T633C.....

Am i wrong in believing that this is not a blu-ray drive. or should i just go out and buy a blu-ray movie and try it.

Thanks for the info i thought as much. So what does this mean i gotta contact OCUK for false advertising or alienware for putting the wrong drive in the laptop.
