unreal tournament goty, steam, vista

Have a weird kind of slow motion lag that then catches up and runs full speed for 4-5 seconds, back to slow motion.

Pretty top spec machine so I doubt thats the problem, anyone else got this and managed to get it running well?

Have tried openGL and d3d..

Firewall? Happened to me on CSS even when playing with bots.

What card(s) you running?

I've had similar problems in the past and it always seems CPU related with UT99. Maybe check CPU drivers and assuming it's a multi core processor set it to only use one core in task manager?
