When the Mondeo mark 4 first came out, the vent surround for the windscreen was silver, this was a pain in the arse when it was sunny as it would reflect and obscure my view.
Also when it was raining the water would drain right in the path of the wing mirror on the driver and passenger doors, major pain the arse.

I've noticed today in a 59 plate that the surround is now black and the mirrors have changed shape and the water draining no longer happens.

Has there been any other little ajustments on cars for better or worse that you've noticed/know about?

I read somewhere that for the first 4/5 years the X5 was out it had minor changes every year. Not sure how true it is though.

The Fiesta MK4 came with two different bonnets.

One was completely flat:

And one had swage lines:

I bet you feel better for knowing that

Pretty much every car ever has a facelift - or am I missing something?

Think muffin is talking about small changes that make the car better as they are noticed by customers that arent significant enough to warrant a facelift but need to be brought in.

Muffin the old volvo 850's think the early ones didnt come with drainage channels for the front windscreen and were brought in later on.

Probubly nothing more than being made somwhere different with slightly different suppliers for some parts. I assume things like small plastic or metal trim pieces would be made by whoever was closes and cheapest.

Aye it's just proper nerdy stuff that most people don't care about :p

Mondeo Mk2's built after November 1998 had a blue Ford badge on the steering wheel and chrome door handles on the interior.

Subtle.
