Batman: Arkham Asylum

Ran into a couple of issues myself - a few sections it pulls the camera out to a "platformer" like pov, generally like the scarescrow bits its not too bad but a couple of areas like crocs lair its almost impossible to control and a couple of the boss fights you really need 3 hands if using keyboard + mouse - and thats one of the reasons I DID'T play it on console/console controller :(

Also I randomly seemed to trip the DRM :( even tho I bought it from steam a number of times I couldn't move onto the next area until I rebooted (which took me awhile to work out) coz it seemed to forget I had a legal copy after 1-2 hours of playing. gg DRM next time I prolly will just crack the game and save myself the hassle.

Great game otherwise tho and ran everything maxed including physx on my 260GTX SLI with no slowdown... good 60fps - only odditity which did seem physx related - if I spent too long (more than 20-30 mins) in the bits with falling rocks (sewer/old sections) - I'd get extreme slowdowns on the automatic ledge grab/pull up scenes - worked fine during playing normally but when I spent awhile looking for puzzles I'd missed it would start to kick in...

I am enjoying it, probably close to completion not checked but I have just taken out Harley!

Got this through Steam, anyone had a sound issue?

Some voice work doesn't seem to be coming through my speakers

currently playing through on hard mode again just to get that achievement, done all the others and my god some of the fight challenges where hard! ive had so much practice with it now though that i feel like a batman god!

Just completed the game on easy. Got all the hidden objects last night, still only showing as 84% completed. Guess i will have to complete all the challenges to get 100% :D

Looks terrible on my ageing system :(

Athlon 4600
7950GT
2Gb of ram

It's playable, getting frames between 25-30. Would love to play it on full settings but that will have to wait until the new year, when i will be pricing up a new system :)

Im so rubbish at the freeflow combat system

Any tips?
Also what moves do you have to do to get the combo achievement?

I really didn't like this game and it bugs me so many of you enjoy it. I felt like the game had me in chains the whole time. It was too intermittent and restrictive.

For instance, the first 4 hours to me felt like a giant tutorial. Find a grate, crawl through it. Blow this wall up. Ohh look now there's a new tactical zone. Jump down and incap a baddy without others seeing you. Really now...I know what Batman is you know.

Upon completion I then have some bint feeding me a load of drivel through my earpeice (apparently the game perceives me as some kind of idiot as I'm required to give her my full and undivided attention before I can progress to the next point) And if it's not her then it's the Joker or his minions taunting me with some insignificant blabber I can't be arsed with to listen to.

The hand-to-hand combat, and its animation, is hands down the most fluid and like-like I have ever seen in a game. If there was more of this (and lots more) instead of being littered with all the crap from above, hindering my every move, then I suspect I'd of enjoyed it a whole lot more.

Well I never would have guessed that Mark Hamill is the voice of The Joker!

Me neither.

Great work from him, I think the Joker is a great character.
Loved the Scarecrow sections of the game, I was so confused by the last one

This game really isn't made for a keyboard and mouse. It sucks. I wish i would have used the joypad instead. Some of the fight scenes later in the game are very difficult with a kb&m. It just doesn't feel right for me even though i never use a joypad in my games or even own an X360 or Ps. I find myself pressing the wrong buttons and just end up button mashing.

For anyone who finished it on hard using kb&m, i have no idea how they did it. I had a right job doing even on normal. That level where you fight the joker. I grab him with the batclaw and there is always 1 ****** running towards me stopping me from doing any damage to the joker. He they sends another 8 men down to rinse and repeat. I need to master how to knock them out in one combo so they don't get back up. It prompts me to press Shift+lmb for a takedown But i'm in that much of a panic i rarely pull it off.

I don't normally play these types of games. I love the combat in the game but i just suck when there are too many enemies.Think i'll just stick to fps and racing games.
