***Official Wrath of the Lich King Thread***(Contains spoilers)***

For the most part I like the update. As a casual player, with real life, kids, job, blahblah, I can't possibly dedicate the time needed to get decent gear. I'm in a casual guild, for those very reasons, but it means if ever I get a few hours free on a weekend I can't even pug a 10-man.

Wotlk helped, by making it easier to get semi-decent gear with emblems, and now the T9 Triumph emblems are being spammed around it's even easier. So within a week or two I can get my two main chars (Mage and Priest) a nice set of gear, and join a few 10 (or maybe 25) pugs without getting called a "noob" every five minutes.

I do understand that serious raiders may be slightly peeved, but tbh I pay the same sub for the game, and there will always be an extra level of experience these dedicated player will get.

For the most part the new lfg system is nice - matchmaking seems to work quite well. A few probs, as above, where ppl (myself included) were lf hc instances and get dropped in normal. I imagine they'll iron these bits out over the coming days.

The only thing im not keen about is, for example last night i was doing hol on my ret paladin. A mail belt dropped that was an upgrade from my pro green one :P.

No mail uses in the group, so i tried to need but seems its disabled.

Ended up greeding and the person who one traded me. Kinda a pain.

Also is greed > De Greed?

Well thats content cleared again for another 28days. Walked in 1 shotted all 4. Dam they weren't even hard! Massive Dissapointment..

but DK wise! OMG the unholy buff :O I got a 105k (78k shadow 27.7k melee) SS hit on twins 25man! And on any other normal boss its hitting for 20-25k! Its insane now. the Shadow part is hitting soo hard and it can't be dodged or parried or anything. Went into pvp, just 1 shotting things. This is gunna get nerfed within weeks pulling 14k dps on AoE fights too..

I was meaning to have a dabble with the new unholy build. I will have to try get round to it tonight :)

I have to say I do really like the new 5man dungeon good fun. Flew throught it mind.

ICC raid we are not doing till friday so cannot really comment there.

The new LFG thing is amazing I have to say very impressed with it. I also LOVE that you can get like 4 people and the LFG the last member and still do the random HC :) It makes getting a healer so much easier its unreal ! My first random HC was OCU :p jebus they really have nerfed that to the ground it was so easy.

I can't wait to play some more tonight :)

I spent quite a great deal of last night fixing my UI. As I feared it was completely broke :( So I had to make my own which took longer than I hoped. But I got a working ish UI.

Waited with baited breath for the new patch and what upgrades it may bring for my spriest. Sadly the difference was miniscule and no intelligent guild bent on progress will take more than one shadow priest, so I sold all his gems, mats and spellweave pieces, transferred the gold to my lv80 paladin and cancelled my account (again). I'm waiting for Cata to start new.

We raided with 2 SP's at all times.

There DPS is pro when played properly. Easy keeping up in top 5. And the replenish side of it is soo pro.

Now with the SP haste they are looking even more pro

New 5 mans were pretty fun last night, not sure about normal though since we started on heroic. That last 'fight' was especially epic, at the last barrier the lich king was already in range and took out our priest and mage, then we somehow made it :D Really intense.

Had a nice spam this morning saying my password had been changed...From an address like "[email protected]" :D

And echoing the above, SP are competitive when played properly, most classes are actually. The raid dps balance is pretty decent right now at least in my group. The top spot is often quite a chunk ahead of everyone but the top8 or so are very close. Really depends on the player sometimes. I play hunter and it is rare I am not in the 1st spot on recount, But the other hunters rarely ever break the top8 dpsers :/

For those confused about the need / greed / DE options.

Disenchange and Greed are the same thing pretty much. If you roll 25 DE roll and somebody rolls a 35 greed roll they will win the item.

If you roll 90 DE and they roll say 65 Greed, you will win the item and it will be automatically disenchanted.

Wasn't overly impressed with the difficulty of the encounters. Managed to get up to Saurfang and get him to 30% ish. The patch day lag on Draenor wasn't very favourable though and had several wipes due to huge lag spikes.

The instance and encounters themselves are fun and innovative is some parts but I really can't wait for Hard modes but it's going to be at least Feb - March before we get to Arthas and unlock hard modes.

Got my Quel'dala healing mace yesterday as well, just need a decent off hand and I can replace my staff for a decent upgrade. Got the Abacus form Gunship battle also last night for a nice spellpower boost.

I also have to stick up for the SP's too. We have an insane SP in our raids, in fact he is our RL. He can keep up with me (DK) and the mages and warlocks. Granted he is always a bit below us but god damm he can really pump out the DPS plus the constant heals from VE are really useful.

I have been reading up a bit on the unholy DPS I have to say I am deffo going to be making my second spec Unholy and have a dabble with it :) There really is no point my second spec being tank as I never and don't intend on using it.

Loved ICC so far. My guild sent 3 teams into the 10 man version last night and then did the 25 straight after.

The gunship battle is compeltely awesome and everyone should be able to experience it.

That is why I hate elitist ******* like some of the posters above thinking that the last tier of raid content should only be accessible to the top 5% of the player base. I've killed Algalon and Anub 25 Hard modes yet have no problem with other players running around in gear that looks the same. I don't care if they got it by running Heroics everyday for 6 months, why should it matter to me? If people want to wave their e-peens around then that's what the date stamps on hard mode achievements are for.

Saying that people should only be able to raid the current tier of content after beating the previous one is also stupid as hell. Maybe if the first bosses in Hyjal/BT had been harder than Vashj/Kael I could understand it, but the first 2 or 3 bosses in Hyjal/BT were complete face rolls.

What's the point of the Disenchant roll? Isn't it a little redundant? If someone Greeds it... then you're not going to Dis it anyway. In which case, they may as well have rolled Need...

It's pretty simple. 1. Does someone want the item. 2. Nobody wants the item and it can be DE'd.

Rather than 1. I want the item a lot. 2. I want the item a bit. 3. I dont want the item.

Check out my spec and glyphs in my above post if u want some hints on it.

And towards about top guilds getting in. They should make it HARD! The first 4 bosses i'll be pugging on my alt. they are faceroll easy! shouldn't be that way. in BT you needed to actually be geared and know taccys to do it! I'm up for allowing everyone to see it. but don't do it from the start! Give it a few months then allow everyone else in. The elite should get something for putting in the effort. Its like u working full time and getting the same money as someone that works 2/3 hours a day!

It saves one person having to loot all the items, DE them and have people roll at the end of the run.

As an enchanter myself I hate having to loot and DE every green then trade people the shards at end of the run.

had a quick look at your unholy spec :) its the same one I was intending to use.

To be honest I am rather excited about playing unholy again I used to love it back when Unholy Blight was the cool insect swarm type move rather than a DoT (3.1 ??) I used to love having the perma ghoul its the one thing I really did miss when changing from unholy to blood.

I'm rather looking forward to raiding this friday should be good fun.

Why? Why do that?

Just so you can stand on Orgs Bank roof and have people go "Wow, u r liek soo epik"?

Hard modes are for the 'elite'. The 'elite' get rewards in the form of better loot, mounts, titles and achevements. The 'elite' dont really have the right to say anything about who should go into what instances.
Infact, the T10 from hardmodes has different looks! Christ Blizzard are really bending over for you!
