I can't imagine there's many people left that don't already have this (either thru compilation packs, buying HL2 etc) but if so, it's your lucky day! :)
 
Never played it as not sure I'd like it - shame there isn't a demo really.

Sell it to me - as a CS noob. Is it all team games, and when you die do you respawn straight away, or do you have to sit there twiddling your thumbs watching everyone else play until the round is over??

I think this is Valves way of saying "we're saving the good ones till christmas".
 
Can you play this over LAN?

Forgive me If I'm being stupid. I already have it, but it'd be good to get some in-house games going here.

Depending on your previous FPS experience it can have a pretty steep learning curve. On normal publics you have to wait until the round is over, don't take that as a bad thing though. You can learn from spectating better players during this time. However if you want to be shooting all the time and not wait for respawns, play on a deathmatch css server. Plenty of them too.

It's a great game for £3.50, but don't expect up to date graphics. It's pretty much the only FPS I play now, although I mainly play competitive matches with the odd bit of public when I'm bored.
 
bad deal i remember there was a deal cs:s for 1 euro around 90 p.

edit: this game took 5000 hours of my life :eek:

Although I can't actualy remember how I got hold of it in the first place.
