For the guys around my age, 25.
How much was your insurance when you were 17?
I was just a named driver on both family cars, so I have no figure to base it on. My first own insurance was at 21 (I think), £650 ish fully comp
At 17, all my money went on beer/games etc. I never really drove that far anyway at the time, but still.
If you want cheap insurance, you have to start at the very bottom and prove to insurers you're responsible by racking up the no years bonus.
I'm 18 and I disagree with the guy who said the driving age should raise from 17 to 18. What I think could be an alternative method to reducing idiots from driving is to make the test harder, I mean your allowed to make up to 15 minor errors in the practical and the test is only half an hour long!
Maybe allow 5 minor errors or make them retake it.
I don't drive yet (but have passed test) because I'm saving for insurance, but I do need a car to get to college otherwise take 2 buses a time to get there, which tbh would be an absolute pain.
if you have been taught how to drive on dual carraigeways properly though you should really know how a motorway works

Admiral have always been cheapest for me. At 19 with 0ncb I was paying £800 fully comp on a £10k car
You can't be serious.
Not everyone lives near a multi-lane NSL dual carriageway. Those that don't will have a great deal of difficulty when they start driving on motorways.
Yup, 'twas a new Pug 207 so it wasn't exactly a snarling monster of a car![]()

It just doesn't add up!
The cheapest I can get is £1600 at 18.
