Tesco gets the iPhone!

Every time i look at iPhone tariffs I can never help but think its massively overpriced.

"Unlimited" (£500 fair Use Policy) there is like a 2500 minutes "Flexi" contract or like a 1100 mins Unlimited Texts (well 5600, but near enough unlimited eh?) contract. Which i know you can get a damn sight cheaper than £60 per month on any other phone apart from the iPhone. (eg, £36 a month on T-Mobile 18 month too, not 24 or £33 on 3 Mobile, again 18 months)

£222 for a 3G  Ouch....

Delving deeper into these "deals" there really isnt anything to set it out from the other contracts out there in all honesty, proof that despite variation it will remain massively overpriced.

I mean if you look at the £60 of calls and texts for £20p/m it's only 600 texts if you use it for all texts going by their standard rate of 10p per text, combine that with calls and it isnt great. TBH however if you dont really text or call in any decent volume it will be fine but seems like it would be very easy to go over.

I could be wrong but I think Apple have a say in how much it sells for so that's why we don't see any great deals.

Just checked their network coverage tool and it seems they do have good coverage for normal voice. I don't know about the 3G service.

If I got an iPhone I'd want to use it as a satnav too but I am unsure on how it downloads the route and if it needs a constant connection?

for sat nav you need to pay a silly price for tomtom. but it wont need a data connection. will work just like normal sat nav. has the maps pre installed

using google maps you need to keep downloading the maps as you go though

lol @ Wales coverage.
Despite this, I get 3G here (South Wales).

Just look at the map again though. Most of the populous areas in Wales have got 3G coverage. Feel sorry for those in North Wales but hey, most of the people I know from North Wales sound English, so they can just pop across to Liverpool and all will be fine. :p

I probably wouldn't buy an iPhone from Tesco, especially seeing as the word "Tesco" will be over the top of your wallpaper.

Kind of like going to a very fancy restaurant and ordering the best lobster dinner and then the waiter coming out and taking a dump right on top of the plate.
