What was your first car?

Skoda Felicia 1.3 GXi (or something). No PAS either.

And then when I actually passed, they wanted the same money to insure that as everything else, so I bought the best thing I could (and still can) afford, my Mondeo. It's much easier to live with than a 1995 Skoda with no PAS and no CL.

Can anyone else trump me as having the lowest horsepower first car? :D

I wasn't far off but I can't beat it :(

1.2 8v Corsa, had a fearsome 45bhp but I think it was a fair bit heavier than your car! Did 0-60 in a decidedly shopping cart beating 17.5 seconds and left many a horse and cart behind with its top speed of 90mph!

modified fez - 17 @ 970 smackers :D

faster than all me matez 1.1zzz too.

shame it was a mk4 and purple, and therefore branded as a '*******' :(

Now I have to look into another car.. and I know it's going to look like a piece of crap compared to what I have on my drive.. horrible situation lol :(

Any recommendations?

Have you tried phoning various insurance companies and checking online quotes with places like Admiral and Bell? They might be able to provide a better insurance cost

Something that isn't a Civic tbh, they've always been totally shocking for insurance.

A 1.6 Focus would be pretty cheap, I can insure one for £600 fully comp as opposed to the £600 TPFT I'm paying for the lolfiesta.

Why need it look like a piece of crap?

Most cars that a 17 year old can afford to insure look like pieces of crap.. you don't agree? :p

Pretty much done all the online insurance quotes under the sun.. phoning around, I haven't done yet as have only been looking at insurance seriously the past couple of days so will need to do that, but I don't think i'll get much of a better deal.. that's if I get one at all.

Indeed, all those civics i see the chavs driving around the town all the time with massive zorsts and lowered so they ground out over speed bumps look dire! :D

Nope, most of the cars that 17 year olds because it's all they think they can insure look like pieces of crap.

A Focus 1.6 is a much better looking car than a slightly chavvy Civic IMO

Agreed.. I don't think mine looks too bad.. but how the hell do they insure them.. or dont they? -.-

What year focus?

Does it matter? They all look the same really, apart from a minor facelift :p
