Thinking of getting this game as it's just the sort of game I like. However, I've heard that the PS3 version has a major frame rate issue. I don't mind a little here and there but I have read in a few reviews that it frequently drops into the low 20 fps and is very distracting.

Anyone with the PS3 version have any problems with it.

Thx guys.:)

My PS3 version turned up on Wednesday, and I've only managed to put about 4-5 hours into the game.

It definately stutters in places, and I tend to notice it most on the intro and cutscenes. In the actual game it hasn't been *too* bad, but then I've yet to get into the game proper.

A bit like yourself I had the choice over whether to go PC or Console, and in the end I fancied playing it on one of the consoles. There is a nice comparison over at DigitalFoundry @ Eurogamer which compares the FPS on all 3 versions, amongst other things. If it is a major issue then I'd consider buying the PC or 360 version instead.

It's worth noting there are 'occassional' glitches occassionally in the graphics on the PS3 version. More annoying is the poor target selection and the fact you can't zoom out on the view (not unique to the PS3 version though). But none of this will stop me enjoying the game.

Aside from the better graphics and framerate (if your PC can handle it remotely well) Dragon Age is leaps ahead on PC because of the interface.

That click wheel crap annoyed me enough on Mass Effect let alone trying to use it on Dragon Age which is 10x harder as a game overall.

Anybody with a half capable PC shouldn't have bothered with the console version. Interface being the best thing about the PC, unlike Mass Effect where the PC version had the better interface and didn't have texture popping and extreme slowdown unlike the 360 version. God that was so poor on 360.

Edit: In before anyone says Mass Effect was fine on 360, I completed it twice on that and experienced a lot of slowdown on the way, at one point my game literally became a slideshow for a few seconds.
and no, it was not my 360 as my playthroughs were across 3 consoles in total.

This, plus the gameplay is that much better on PC - my opinion, obviously. It's tougher, I've heard, but I think you'd do fine with a bit more of a tactical approach, and you've got so many advantages with the mods and tweaks available - the party camp chest is a lifesaver, and I'm not sure if the console versions have dex weapon issues, but it's fixed on PC. I'm biased, of course, but with a game like this PC is a no-brainer.

I sold the 360 version of the game and got the PC version and im so glad i did. I cant stop playing it atm.

personally i have it on the ps3 and the framerate is noticable but once i got into the game i didnt care due to the quality of the game. also the interface is ok once you get into it just not great.
