Tempted to grab this to keep me busy over the weekend - I know I really should have it by now but do many people still play it? How busy are the servers? And more importantly is it worth it or should I wait for the PC version?

Cheers :)

Servers are still packed. It's well worth it IMHO. I just fired it up this afternoon as I've gone off Bad Company 2 now until it's released.

I liked it at first but its the same thing every game. Just people capping and running off. Game mode just doesn't work that well for public. Plus I find the engine painful to look at....like rifling through a tin of broken biscuits.

But it was fun for a while so give it a pop.:D

I find 1943 much sharper and less spongy to control. Bullets go where I aim rather than in the general direction and the controls just feel much more accurate and responsive.

Cheers guys, bought it yesterday after the positive comments - well worth it as was said. What with L4D2, Borderlands and Dragon Age I've been missing a game to jump straight into when I've got a spare few minutes. This is perfect. Also, as Kreeee mentioned, the controls are excellent for a console fps - I find I can actually snipe effectively and when I miss I've only got myself to blame :)

Extremely fun, if your a fan of the BF series anyway this will bring back good memories of the old and well designed maps.

Had huge amount of fun on this game tho, very basic but extremely fun! planes are a joy!

EDIT: to the guy who comments about the engine painful to look at. All tho i do kinda agree with you, the GFX are a little on the cartoon side its still so much fun to play. I currently have BFBC2 beta and must say they've ditched the cartoon look-a-like and have a lot more realism about the game

For a tenner everyone should have this imo.

Fantastic value for money - cannot laud it enough, been playing since it was released on PSN and still not tired of it haha. 12k kills probably says too much about my lack of socialising but meh - like i care :)

It does have it's flaws ofc - random freezes and hitbox glitches etc - but in the grand scope of things these are easily lived with as the game is just so much fun!

Ah cool i thought it was just me who had the random freezes!

It is tho gr8 game! think i got 6000 kills... mainly because i'm a beast haha ;)

Not for me. They just prevent me from rejoining any games until I restart the PS3. It seems to be a PS3 version anomaly. It never freezes at all on my 360. The worst thing is DICE asked people to log the times and dates of all these freezes and yet they've done sod all about it.

Plus the same thing is happening in Bad Company 2. I get lots of server disconnects. It is most disheartening. I hope they get it all fixed by the March release.

the same feeling i had too when i played the game. i really hope it is like this in bad company 2. i went back to play bad company because i was getting frustrated with mw2 and it just felt like i was spraying bullets wherever.
