Hello all,

Has strobe lighting been phased out in popular high street clubs? 5 years or so ago, most times I went to a club there would be strobe lighting used at some point - now I'm not sure if I have seen in within the last two years at all.

Have the times moved on and is strobe lighting simply uncool? Or have there been new safety regulations put in place that put the more mainstream clubs from using them?

Just wondered if anybody had noticed the same or knew anything about it. Cheers :)

if it where up to me every club would just be a black painted room with a huge strobe in the middle.

pretty much like this
. that guys only rider request is a 3KW strobe. god bless mental russians

Most clubs I've been to still have them, they don't over use them though. Its obvious why, because they are so damn crazy. Love the effect created though.

They don't seem as commonly used as they used to be - guess the novelty wore off.

One of the clubs here still use them when they have a proper DJ line up or live acts tho.

I was in Up The Creek on Friday and had the miss fortune to end up staying for some of the Guantanamo Bay style "Disco" that basically involved being blinded every 4 seconds by some kind of strobe so I can say that yes they definitely do exist
