Apple dont do cover for accidental damage. ive already been in.

Anyway i had a jusg of water beside my macbook and as i went over over to close itunes i kick the jug a little a basically flooded the macbook.

Now it wont tun on and it wont even charge.

So is it beyond repair? (its 3 years old i think)

*********EDIT********** Just adding here. When i split the water on it the macbook was on. after about 10 seconds it then turned off. i treid the turning on thing after an hour

Maybe not. Turning it on and putting in the charger was an idiotic thing to do. You should have taken the battery out and not plugged it in.

Put it in a huge sack of rice and silica gel cat litter, for an extra measure whack it in the airing cupboard!

I think it's past it tbh. Shouldn't of plugged it in...

Trying to turn it on might have killed it. You ideally wanted to open it up get a hairdryer on it and maybe shot it near a radiator for a couple of days. Maybe still worth a try.

Leave it in the airing cupboard for a week with the battery removed. Good luck.

If that fails then claim on your house insurance for accidental damage because that's what it is. Accidental damage.

you spilt a whole jug of water on it by accident and the first thing you thought was to run some electricity throught it ?

honestly thats just cracked me up....thanks for the laugh.

I can't imagine turning it on an hour later will have damaged it any more than booting a jug of water over it when it was switched on already. Any damage to be done would have been done then.

You can leave it to dry longer but I doubt you'll have much luck.

turning it on a week (maybe 2)later would have been more appropriate ....thats after you have taken it apart and gave all parts sufficient time to dry(how ever long it takes).

*just seen the part of it still being on*

guess its bye bye to that then

You still might be lucky.

Turn it on its side in a V shape and stick it somewhere like an airing cupboard and leave it for a full week.

Do not be tempted to try it before then.

edit remove the battery :)

it might have had enough water to make the current completely dispersed, the real damage is in a localised short circuit I would think which will probably happen in 1 week when you try it :p

my money is on it being screwed, dell replaced most of my laptop when i tipped coffee into it. and i killed all power asap.

get it claimed on the household contents insurance providing you have accidental damage cover.

Theres a big difference between coffee and water, I would be tempted to switch the power off and add a few cups of deionised water if I had spilt coffee tbh
